Hello I received a letter last week regarding a credit card debt that I had with Bank of America that was bought by John P. Frye/Atlantic Credit. I was previously on a payment plan with B of A and had been paying them for almost 2 years a set amount each month, but then got behind this past summer as we had a rental home go into foreclosure and I am also on unemployment. B of A offered a settlement, which was still more than I could pay, but I did pay them a small amount in August; apparently that wasn't enough and they sold the debt to JPF/AC.

It has only been two days since joining this site and I already feel much better about my debt situation. I feel empowered and in control. Its going to take me a few years to get things paid off and cleaned up, but I'm confident that I can do it. The impossible now feels possible. Thank you!

I am using Total Debt Solutions and they are a debt relief company, and YES, your credit tanks...BUT...what is the point of having "credit" if you cannot pay the bills and cannot afford the monthly minimums and you will NEVER pay them off! Your debt score is a total scam if you are keeping it up just for show...THAT is the trouble this country is in. You have to stop paying your credit cards, and send the money instead to the relief company, and they start paying off your debts one by one, they just paid off one of my cards for half of what I owed...and onward.

I just got a billing from a collection company called NCC - they should a Universal/Citibank Credit card from 1999 in my name with more than $5400 owing. They are offering to take $1350 as a pay off. It is not on my credit report. But they have all of my personal information. They can not send me any proof of the original contract or the charges. They referred me to the company who had the collection before, known as NCO Financial. They said I can write in for copies of the contract, but that when I do the offer for the lesser amount of payoff will be void.

I had a PDL with Lakota Cash for $300.00. They had already drafted over $500.00 out of my account when I sent the revocation letters and closed my bank. They sent me a letter stating the account was paid in full. A month later, I noticed my paycheck was $250.00 short. I contacted payroll, who attached the "garnishment" letter from Lakota Cash, stating I owed $487.50. I informed her they were illegal, sent wage assignment revocation letter, forwarded all communication between myself and PDL. Was told it was being referred to our corporate attorney.

I see this hammered here all the time. Get any kind of settlement offer in writing before paying. My husband has a high interest private Citibank student loan from several years ago. We both have federal student loans through Direct Loans with interest rates less than 4%. We got married recently, and I'd like to know if it is possible to consolidate these loans, along with our credit card debt?

I have several private student loans that I need to get under control. I am enrolled in school and the company wants to charge me $50 per loan to put into forbearance. If I had that I could make a payment. What can I do to try to lower my interest rate? Avoid forbearance fees? Is it better to consolidate or try to pay each one one at a time? Any advice you can give is much appreciated.

How do I know if pdl is unlicensed or illegal? I have one with Payday Loan Yes.

What's wrong with the MCM people, managers, are soooo rude and unprofessional. I can't count the times I called them about my settlement amount and that already have been zeroed in. Everytime I call MCM, is a "nightmare". I already called Michelle Lusk and left a message to call me back but never got a call back. May I please suggest to train these people to respect people who call them and willing to pay. I was a victim of cruel verbal disrespect and dishonesty by these people. Mr. Jeffrey Gladstone denied that he sent me a letter prompting me to pay more when I paid off my debt already.
