Does anyone know what to do if you are making payments to an attorney for bankruptcy and you recieve a summons and complaint form, replie back to them via letter stating that you are filing for bankruptcy and give them your attorneys name and info along with your account number for case and some how they get a judgement against you for the debt amount plus interest anyways! We just sent the last payment to the attorney today along with all the sighned documents so that it can be filed now. So what do we do? Do we have to pay them? My husband is a disabled vet.

For several months (almost a year) calls keeps coming in asking for a person who never lived here. We know no one by this name. We built this house and have been the only occupants. Although this has been explained over and over, the calls continue. How can this aggravation be put to an end?

I had a PDL with Sandpoint in 2008. I sent them a cease and assist letter. I have had 3 collection companies call me informing me they will show up at my home or job or they will proceed with paperwork. I found out in 2008 that they are illegal in SC. I sent them an email, I saved it, asking them to cease and assist. The second collection company would not tell me who they represented at first until I pressed. When I explained they were not legal and I had overpaid them, they said they would see me in court.

I have been getting letters from afni saying I owe AT$T Mobility $1928.16 but if I pay $50 the debt will be paid in full. I live in Texas and this debt is over 4 yrs old. ATT never even tried to collect because I had just added a new phone to my cell plan, the phone was stolen a few days later by my daughters boyfriend. I called to cancel it within minutes of noticing it was gone. I was told by the rep it would be turned off right away. Well it wasn't and he and a friend ran the bill up on purpose.

i have a letter from the irs telling me that i have cancellation of debt that was with the mrc corp.... Now last year i was in court with mrc corp for a debt they were trying to charge me with that wasn't mine... so they had to drop it.
