I sent several emails yesterday and today I recieve a response from Cash Jar it is pasted below. Making progress. I also received aknowledgement from CMG Group that they are reviewing. I'm getting really worried about this company as I read more here. I've faxed and e-mailed the C&D and revoked ACH authorization, but am unable to close my bank account due to a negative balance - which won't be in the positive again until my payday on 9/17, which is the SAME DAY Zip19 is supposed to take their money. Are the steps I've taken to this point enough? I'm scared to death they're going to take their money in spite of my letters and if they do I will not be able to pay my mortgage. Please - somebody - reassure me that this is going to be okay... :-(

On July 30 of this year I sent a request for validation for a debt to NCO. I sent it CRR and I did receive the green card back. Today in the mail I received a letter from NCO and this is what it says: Thank you for your inquiry regarding the account listed above. Please be advised that this account is closed in our office. According to our records, we have not reported the account to a credit bureau. We appreciate the opportunity to respond to your inquiry. This is an attempt to collect a debt. Any information will be used for that purpose. This is a communication from a debt collector.

There is a new TV comedy called Outsourced and I thought I called Amex and got the cast members! American Express left me an 800 number so I called it back. A polite gentleman with an Indian accent answered and I gave him my info! He told me about an old past due balance that I do not dispute. I explained to him that I have been having a tough time of it due to the economy and I just can't afford to pay right now. He asked me what my current situation was. When I asked if he was with American Express and not a collector he assured me he was so I gave him the info.

I'm filing chapter 7 bankruptcy and just received 4,000.00 check in my name for my college son. It was left over from the school loan I took out for this year. Can I cash it and deposit in his account?

I am down to the last 3 payments on my car loan. There are substantial late fees attached due to my past financial issues. I am wondering if there is any way to negotiate for a lesser payoff? I'm only looking to reduce the late fees. Not sure if there is a fairly good way to approach this with them. Any ideas or advice would be most welcome. Thank you, J Davis

I have been considering going with Care One's debt management plan, but I think I'm just going to try and do this myself. I have about 37k in debt, most of which is with Bank of America, Discover, and Chase. I am barely squeaking by every month to make my minimum payments... something has to change. I have never missed a payment and have never been late, but things are looking particularly scary this month. I have a home business which has been steady for the past 8 years, but this year has been terrible, especially the past few months. Also, my wife is facing salary cuts at her job.
