I have 2 debt validation letters to CAs. Do I need to send a dispute letter to the CB's before the 30 day time period is up? Not sure if I am following the proper steps. Any help is appreciated.

It is now Sept of 2010 and things have gone from bad to worse for the ecomony. I suspect cc defaults are at an all time high. So with this in mind are the cc's more willing to work on a settlement with you or are they working more towards sueing? Any input on the latest settlement offers would be greatly appreciated. Also any input on what mindset the credit card companies are in right now? For example, get a little something now or wait for them to file bankruptcy? My settlement journey has just begun. I am just a week past due on two different cards.

It looks like debt settlement is the best option for me - three PDL's that I can't keep up with. The total balance is just over one thousand dollars - I've only found one firm that will deal with that small of an amount (small to them, not to me!) but their upfront fee is $256, too much for me right now. How can I find a 'good' (reputable?) firm to help me? Also, how do I find out if the 3 PDL's are legal in Oregon? Thanks so much.

I have recieved two pay day loans in new york. I didnt realize how much I would have to repay and my pay day is comming up. What do I do? what is the time frame a school can allow to go by before garnishing wages

Hey Guys, I took out a $300 payday loan with SMG. The finance charge on the loan is $90. I've paid $180 so far before I had to stop payments, due to getting behind in other bills. The loan has been passed off the FFG & Associates in Nevada. They emailed me a debt validation letter with the total being $618 I owe (which includes attorney fees). Am I responsible to pay the whole $618 or can I pay them the remainder of the original loan + proper interest rate under Louisiana law for payday loans? Thanks for your help!

I recently took out 2 payday loans, the first was Americas Cash Express. Original Loan Amount 640.00 Owe 415.63 The Second was Cash America Payday Advance. Original Amount 791. Owe 791 (ive made one payment, paying only first finance charge) Im thinking of closing my bank account and trying to pay them on my terms. Not sure if this is the correct course of action or not.

I wrote them several letters/emails asking for a PIF letter and refund of $212. I filed complaints with the Ohio Attorney General's Office, Better Business, and FTC. Today, I received this email. I have been dealing with Palisades to pay a bill I have alraedy repaid about $17,000 I just recieved a letter from them and all of a sudden my balance has gone up by $5,000 dollars. Palisades has not been adding interest in the past but I think that that is what they did. Is there anyway to fight this. If they add interest I will have no way to make they payments or ever pay them off. My original debt was with chase credit card.
