My husband and I have a total of 15 cc and personal loans. In trying to avoid BK, we are calling creditors and making payment arrangements. Some are successful, 0% for 5 years, 3% for 6 years, etc. I am sending a debt settlement letter to one of my creditors. I am 6 months behind on this card. Is my negotiation with them will be affected by the fact that some of my credit cards are current (these are the ones who agreed on lower interest rates)? I have 3 other CCs that are more than 3 months past due and also in the process of settling with them.

Just got off the phone with American Consumer Credit and they are closing my account and sending me a PIF letter. I was really starting to get nervous as it had been over a week and I had not heard a peep from them. The gal I spoke with said she had been out of town for a week and just got my fax today. I am SOOOO relieved!! Now I am just waiting to hear from Sure Advance and I can start to get my life back!!! Keep on pushing - it works!:p

recieved a "request for Entry of Default" from a collection agency in August 2010 for a credit card that was charged off in Nov. 2007 in California. I was never served and the request for entry has no dollar figures listed. Is this a scare tactic?

Hi All, I have a business account with Citi Bank for Home Depot and have had it for along time. This last December, we got 45 days behind because of the economy. Citi bank made an offer to assist by allowing only a small payment of $45 for 12 months to help out. This sounded like a good idea. We went with it. We set up to have it withdrawn from our account and they screwed it up from the word go. They put in the wrong account number and this caused the account to be handed to a collection firm.

i have private student loans, i owe a bank some money, and have a few other bills in collection? I need this taken care of within the month. At least a payment plan set up by then????

I have had a loan through payday max for over a year and a half. Needless to say I pay the total off and then continue to reborrow. My problem being - I borrowed 1100.00 and can not pay it all back (or the interest at this time) . I was honest and called payday max and told them that I needed to set up a payment plan with them and they referred me to credit protection . I called them and all they would do is push my extension back a week and charge me an additional 100.00 in finance.

I have answered a complaint from Arrow. I also sent a request for documents to Lawyer. In turn they have answered my answer and denied my denials? and asked court to dismiss my defenses. Do you suggest I act on this or wait until my court date.

I am trying to find truly reliable Debt Settlement Company, but so far I can't find any, even if I read on line that such companies exist. Can you help me in this task by recommending a few reliable companies?
