Hi! I have been sued by Asset Acceptance for a debt that I owed to American Express about 5 years ago. Asset Acceptance bought this debt from American Express and had sent me collection letters during the past 3 years including threatening phone calls. Two weeks ago Asset Acceptance has filed a Request for Entry of Default. I wasn???t sure what this was until I found out that this company has filed the lawsuit in May 2010. Unfortunately, I never received the summon letter. The Proof of Service that this company filed indicates that I was served ???by substituted service???

Ok, I've tried to research this but I am getting lost in some of the legal jargon with tribal immunity. I took out a $400 loan with My Payday Advance, and I've paid $360 in fees. I sent the letter saying they were illegal (I'm in California) and I wanted to pay the $40 I owe. I got an email back form Cash Advance Network saying [SIZE=3]"We are a Canadian Tribal Entity and have sovereign immunity to such regulations." They wanted to settle for $200.

What are the pros and cons of consolidation?

I'm on hold now with CashNet. I got a call from a man with an accent who transferred me to a woman with an accent claiming that she was with a legal department and that CashNet had a claim against me. When I told her I'd never had a loan with them, she said I had for $300 and that they tried to debit my account and couldn't. I've never had a loan with CashNet. She did have all of my information. Has anyone else had a similar situation. The best part was when she recited my address and then told me two officials would be there tomorrow to begin the legal process! LOL

I would love your advice on this: I had used up my deferments & forebearance & was having a difficult time paying my loans. A rep from the loan holder, AES, suggested I reconsolidate with Direct Loans. While in the process of reconsolidation, my loan defaulted. But AES didn't notify me or Direct Loans. Here's how it went down. I was getting daily phone calls and weekly mail from AES about my loans. I called and told them I was reconsolidating. The rep at AES said to ignore their correspondence since it would take a few months for the reconsolidation to go through.

Yesterday I called Colonial Bank and in due course of our discussion, I was told that they don't use Chexsystems. The rep, it seems, had no time to talk with me. Can anyone tell me if it is true?

Been in program for almost 2ys, had 4 cards inrolled in program. One settlement, I think I'm getting sued on one card. Have called several times about it and nothing. I have been paying, how much money do they need for me to solve my debt. can't get a call back. I want to get out.

IS it possible to ge tout of payday loans that are taking up majority of my paychecks?
