How do I find the list of legal payday lenders in the state of Mississippi?

if I read ala payday loan laws correctly, why is it some of the internet pdl companies have rolled over my loans every 2 weeks since march.. 2 of them I have paid over 2000. to.. I have closed my account.. but I dont know whats gonna happen, ie are they gonna call my boss....

I have a payday loan for $225 with colortyme rental in panama city fl. I have been out of town since june taking care of a sick relative and they are calling my family telling them they are going to turn the check over to the district attorney. Can they do this cause i read somewhere that criminal action is prohibited in fl, so are they just trying to scare me? or can i actually be prosicuted?

Hi Folks, I am writing this time about a call I received, in addition to my brother and my mother (who is NOT a reference listed) tonight... after 9:00pm. The first caller left a message with my mom calling himself Mr.Stamp. He told my mom there was possible ID theft on my bank account and I should call him right away because he was trying to decide whether or not I make many online purchases. The number he gave was 1-877-400-0286, the number on the caller ID was 410-696-7202, and when Bill (another caller) called my phone the number displayed was 202-326-2222.

I just settled my debt with American Express through a CA for 35 cents to a dollar and they agreed a payment plan of three months. I told them that I will sent them a money order but they refused instead they said they will take it out from my checking account. Is it safe to do this?

I have just received a collection notice from RJM Acquisitions requesting settlement on an overdrawn bank account that I have never owned. I received this notice too late to speak to them today, but I will surely speak to them tomorrow. The request is for settlement of $80.90 at M&T Bank. I have never owned an account there. How do I respond to this? they appear to have my social security number. I don't know if this is a case of identity theft. Where do I start to combat this?

I was reading the posts and I didn't realize so many people are in the same boat as I am. I too am finding that I have to borrow more to pay bills because of the cost of the loan. I have loans with: Check n go with for 2,000 with fee every two weeks of 373.34 Advance america for 1,000 fee every 2 weeks of 154.00 PLS Loan store (2) for 1,000 each fee every 2 weeks of 297.28/ea (total 594.56) obviously paying over 1,000 every two weeks is too much to handle and still run a household. Any suggestions on how I can get these paid down without having to pay all the interest and make only one payme

We have an auto loan with Capital one Auto Finance. We have always made our payments, until my husband recently lost his job. We have tried to keep up with it, but unfortunately have fallen behind. We are only $1200 from having it totally paid off, but right now are 156 days past due on payments. I did call to talk to Capital One today, our loan has been moved to the "small balance collections" department.
