I sent a debt validation letter to the CA. Frederick J. Hanna & Associates, which I know is a slimy group. I received the card back and three days later received this instead of debt validation: "We are in receipt of your letter in which you stated there is a dispute with the aforementioned account and your request for validation. Your account was originally opened with COMPANY, on November 11, 2000 and your last payment was received on August 2, 2010. Our client has verified that the balance of $$$$$$$$$$ to be true, correct, and still owing at this time." Okay, NOT validation of any kind.

How do you find out if cash advance companies are illegal to operate in your state? I live in Tn. and I went to their website I thought but couldn't find out.

has anybody heard of a collection agency called check systems not to be mistaken with chexsystem or may they want to mislead you in that way

I have been in "default" for two years, taking their calls and basically just chatting with them. I took the loans and never paid them back. The day after I took the loans I closed my bank account. So they have not gotten anything, and I haven't paid them anything. My question is: Do they ever sue anyone?

Is there a certain amount that you have to owe in order to qualify for this program?

I received a call from these people twice. The first person was understanding and told me that I would continue to get calls until I could do something. I said I understood that, I have done collections before. The lady that called me today, she was rude, insulting and basically degraded me to the point where I ended the call. I can't even find out how to make a complaint about this person. I KNOW that it is illegal for them to harass and threaten a person in order to do their job. When I search for this company all I get in info about how to work for them.

I filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in late April. Had the 341 meeting in early June. Received the official discharge last week. Not that my credit report even means anything anymore, but I ran it just for kicks. I noticed where my now former creditors took the time to post negative comments AFTER the discharge. Next to each creditor, it does state "debt discharged through Chapter 7 bankruptcy", but it also states things like "debt charged off" "in collections" and "180 days since last payment". Those comments are listed after the date of the discharge. Can they continue to do this?

Does anyone have any experience in closing their Chase bank account to stop PDL companies? I am just curious if you had any issues with ACH debits forcing the account back open or if it was smooth sailing after you closed the account?
