Hi guys, I have found myself --quite surprisingly--having deal with a collection over a debt I dispute. Here's the story. I am trying to refi my house, pull my credit, and find a collection from Monco Law saying I owe Associated Bank money from 2008. I still have an account with Ass Bank that has my current address and number. For some reason Monco Law--who by the way seem to only work with Ass Bank--don't contact me but put a collection on my credit report in May 2010! I have never dealt with collections before so I called them and asked what's going on.

I'm beginning to panic! My husband is in the final interview process with a company for an outside sales position with a company car. The company just emailed the application and background check, DMV check, and drug test paperwork to sign. Everything in his background is good except he has terrible credit. He doesn't have a BK, foreclosure or judgement but he does have 4 credit cards in collections from 31/2 years ago. Do you think this will prevent him from getting the job? If anyone has dealt with Hireright they are the company performing the background check. What do you think?

Dear all, I recently activated Power of Attorney for my aging grandmother who has 54k in unsecured credit card debt through six different creditors. Yesterday morning I spoke to a very nice, helpful gentleman named Adam Silverman at Consolidated Credit Counseling Services, Inc., (CCCS) to consolidate the unsecured debt. We set up a payment amount and I sent in the application package.

I have a pay day loan through a local rental store who does pay day loans also. I could not afford to pay them this month. I had to close my bank account. Today they came kncoking on my door. My brother answered and told them I was not home. I have contacted an attorney, since I live off of SSDI. The attorney told me I was Judgement Proof. I did not know they could come knocking on your door. I live in Kansas. Has anyone had this happen to them. Renke

I live in Kansas and work in Missouri. I have closed my checking account. I copied the C&D template. I don't know the laws for Kansas and I don't understand if by me working in Missouri does that mean I have a presence in Missouri (in reference to the Template).
