Spotloan - CA

I am normally better at finding this information but I found conflicting - so can anyone tell me if Spotloan is legal/licensed in California? $800 loan and paid back some - ethically I owe them what I borrowed, but if they are not legal in my state that is it. Can anyone tell me if they are ok in CA? Thanks.

I received a summons that Howard Lee Schiff was represting Portfolio Recovery. I was to answer them by 11/18 and we have court Dec 9, 2013 what can I do now?

I am registered on here but cannot figure out my sign in and password. Anyway I had a loan with Clear Loans for $500. I refinanced twice for $150 each. Then paideia off 2 days later after the 2nd refinance for $520. After reading through I have leaned that they are illegal in Oklahoma. So I emailed them asking for a refund. This is what I got back in return: ********** Robert, ClearLoans, which is located in California, is licensed by The Native American Government. We are in SHORT term finance. We provide customers with small loans.

 

Claims and Charges Against Me?

I just received a call giving me a claim # and saying that there are charges against me and that I should call this number within 24 hours and I only have one chance? I did not call the number. They also said that they need to verify my address so that they can serve me papers. Any help on this and info on what I should do? I live in NYS.

This thread is pertaining to the Illinois Consumer Installment Lender laws relating to Consumer Installment Lending Licensees... This is taken directly from the IDFPR (www.idfpr.com/DFI/CCD/ccd_main.asp) Please correct me if I am interpreting the text wrong, but this is how I am translating the text pertaining to CILs: a company that engages in making loans of a principal amount not exeeding $40k, and charge on any such loan a greater rate of interest than the lender would be permitted by law to charge if it were not a licensee hereunder, **EXCEPT** as authorized by the CIL

Ok, I haven't shared the same phone line as my parents in 30 years. I haven't received any phone calls on MY phone, haven't received any correspondence to MY residence that I have lived in 19 years. Today, my elderly parents receive a phone message that states my name and that "this is an attempt to collect a debt" on their answering machine. Is that not illegal if they aren't talking to a PERSON? My elderly parents do not need that stress in their lives and I feel that it violates my privacy.

I sure hope someone here can help me. I've read through a lot of the posts here, and am unsure of the current status of Cash Cure, as a Lender, in illinois. Previously I had read (here and elsewhere) that they weren't license to lend here, and therefore any payday loan issued by them was deemed illegal. I had received a 700 dollar loan at the beginning of July, 2013, and have been paying 200$ on a bi-monthly basis.

I have paid spotloans $950 so far for a loan of $2000, I plan on paying only the principal back as I have sought advice on this forum before, but after contacting spotloans they refuse to agree on this, stating that I must pay the interest & fees as well that have already accumulated. What are my options? What will happen if I say F U and just stop paying back my principal? I don't take kindly to scammers and from what i've seen they've taken double what people have owed them time and time again. I already know your stance on this behavior, but I am seeking what legal action I am liable to in

Delbert Services in Michigan

Has anyone from MI already gone through the process of fighting back Delbert Services from Michigan? I have already filed my complaint to the DIFS and AG, as well as closed my bank account and sent a C&D to Delbert Services. As of now, I am just receiving a bunch of phone calls (that I'm not answering) but nothing else. Should I expect them to hit my credit report soon? I know MI has halted new loans from Western Sky, but does that deem the existing ones sold off to Delbert as illegal now? For the record, I've paid over $1000 the amount actually deposited to me with this lender.
