I took a car loan out with consumer portfolio services in 2007 and has gone to hell and back with the harassment calling my place of business, family and friends, making threats, disrespectful, hanging up and calling back telling people that I asked for them to call and much more. The concern I have they are not a collection agency they are my finance company can I still file a complaint?

A few weeks ago, I received a call from Cambridge, Huxley & Associates about a PDL I had with EZ Money (storefront) that I made some payments on, but had to stop (I'm in Texas). I told them that I needed to receive something from them in writing as I don't make payments based on phone conversations alone. The rep was nice enough and said I should have already received something, which I hadn't. About 2 weeks ago I did receive a letter from Cambridge, Huxley & Associates.

With all the people that frequent this site and all the stories shared about Pay Day Loan hell you would think that we could get the media involved in this battle, even someone like Oprah. People do not realize that these companies will literally steal thousands and thousands of dollars from us and are aloud to get away with it. For so many of us who have lost jobs over the last few years we got involved with these companies for some quick help not knowing that what these companies were charging was illegal.

There have been many guests and members who have complained about receiving numerous collection calls, repeatedly, on their cell phone. For those of you who do not have unlimited service this can eat up your minutes. I happened upon an article which provided information on how to block unwanted incoming calls, by a few of the most popular providers. Some of the services available to block callers, come with a price (though very minimal) while others are free.

Why do collection agencies now put envelope stuffers of additional ways to establish more debt? I have been contacted by this agency for three years and I tell them my situation (living on state disability)and all they do is increase the pressure to collect. There must be a way to stop this harrassmt.
