how much does a collection status hurt your credit score?

I have 7 illegal payday loans. I just went to my bank and because it is negitive i cant do anything. I was reassured that when it is in a positive amount I can close it. They said on the day they closed it no more achs will go through. has anyone in countered this. I live in California is this fraud in anyway if the paydays r illegal?

How do i find out what payday loan place i owe money to?

I live in Illinois and have way too many payday loans and I am trying to find a way out! Hey, I have been getting phone calls from this Frontier Financial Group as well. Is this on the up and up or what? I have been threatened, and pressured by these guys and all they do is seem to try to strongarm you into giving them money. Anyone else know anything about these guys??

I keep getting calls from different collectins agencys on past payday loans, the only infor they give me is that they are either for the BMG or SSM group, wont give me exact names, I did have some unpaid payday loans in the past but are not settled, could anyone please tell me if they know what names are affiliated with these two, for example is the Little Loan shop or upfront payday or Netcash. or does anyone know how to locate this info on the internet, I really appreciate your help, Thanks

Has anyone ever had them call you? I'm sure this is them collecting on a PDL so I decided to ask here first. The voice mail they left was pretty harsh...saying they'd tried to get in contact with me for 10 days and now they have no choice but to send to Desoto County (where I live) to get a judgment issued. Unless I decided to voluntarily handle it.... What would the best course of action be? I'm in MS and am sure it's an illegal pdl that's trying to collect. Is this firm legitamite? I believe this company is located in the State of Delaware, but am not 100% sure. If they are located in the State of Delaware, I want to file a complaint with the Office of the State Bank Commissioner. I have filed a complaint with Ohio Attorney General's office as I live in Ohio. Can anyone tell me if they are in the State of Delaware and if I should file a complaint there or if just filing the complaint with Ohio Attorney General's office is enough. These people are crooks.
