I've read a couple of books by personal financial advisers where they tell terrible and sad stories of people that mismanaged their financial affairs to the point that they were facing judicial trials and bankruptcy. These experts then enter in the scene (generally recommended by third parties) with wise counseling that little by little take them out of the mud. But my question is how these experts get paid if at the beginning their clients have absolutely no way to pay them.

The man won 1.5 million dollars lawsuit against a collection agency after he received so many harrassing and racist phone calls/voice mail messages from Advanced Call Technologies agency. I just noticed a CA reporting on my credit report for an unpaid medical bill to the local hospital. This is indeed a valid bill that just slipped through the cracks. However, I never received anything from the CA, and after talking to them today, I was told that they received mail as undeliverable (not sure why as they had the correct address). Now, I'm trying to clean up my credit report, and know that if they simply mark it as "satisfied", it won't improve my credit much.

Hello, I have some questions on some outstanding payday loans that I have, most have been sent to collections 1. Huskhawk Group borrowed $250, paid 150 in finance charges 2. Kenwood Serv. borrowed 250, paid 150 in finance charges These 2 have been sent to the collection agency called Credit Control, LLC(JH Portfolio Debt Equities LLC). They claim that I owe $430 on Huskhawk and $510 on Kenwood Services. 3. SSM Group borrowed 250, paid 75 in finance charges 4. M1Y Direct borrowed 250, paid zero These 2 have been sent to William J Sokol who may or may not be a real lawyer.

I was recently contacted by AvanteUSA regarding a debt they purchased from a school I went to few years ago. I did take out a loan through Sallie Mae but that has since been paid off. I was caught off guard and took a settlement they offered. I then realized (thanks to this site) that i have the right to request validation of the money they say I owe.
