I had a person call me at work.. He scared my co-worker who took the call by telling her they were sending an officer to serve me with papers for not appearing in court.. She came and got me and I was in the middle of something with another worker.. I was like who is sueing me for not apearing in court.. I was so confused and upset, that I wasn't really thinking coherently(I'm sure I spelled it wrong).. He was like has anybody served me papers yet? Cause if they had he couldn't talk to me and so on.. I was so very upset and wasn't thinking clearly..

I received a scary email from a Mitchell Levy,who claims to be an attorney representing a processor of online gambling charges. I contacted the FTC, BBB,and Attorney General about this. They all told me to report this as internet crime. Basically, this guy says he was calling about a debt with an online casino. Then he said he was investigatingme for fraud---chargebacks. I asked him for certain information, advised him about money laundering and processors, asked for written confirmation of this supposed debt.

I am up to my eyeballs in payday loans, I can't get a loan to pay them off. I am in the negative each month because of them. Do you have any suggestions?

not behind on payments but living paycheck to paycheck. My son is going to college in the fall and I want to rework things so that I have more cash flow to help him out. Should I wait to try and get into a debt management plan until after all of his financial aid is determined and would being in a debt management/consolidation program hurt my chances at getting a parents plus loan if it is needed to help him with tuition?

I just received the following letter from JB Wellington on behalf of Emerald Marketing and Associates. Is this true, can they hack into any account? I cannot see how this would be legal. I am with a major bank and I can't believe they would let someone present anything like this. Please be advised that your account will be turned over to the E-Check Recovery Division due to your Insufficient Funds payment(s) The E-Check Recovery Division can actively locate ANY valid bank account, credit or debit card and any other lucrative assets associated with your social security number.

I have just completed a short sale on a proerty and have $40K left on a HELOC which is now an unsecured debt since Wells has released their lien on the property. I called and was able to get them down to 40% or 16K. Is this good or should I keep trying to get it lower. The original loan was $50K and they got $10K at closing $5K from me and $5K from the primary mortgage holder. I have heard that they were settling for 10%. The Wells rep promised me that they never settle for anything less 40% unless health or death is an issue. Thanks,
