Since these internet loan companies are not licensed in IL, has anyone had success in calling these companies and proposing to pay-off the remainder of the principal and to close the account?

Your customer service department is extremely rude. They make a settlement agreement so they can get money out of you right away then don't hold up their end of the bargain. Once my bill was sent to collections it was over double the balance due. At hard times like these you think they would be somewhat compassionate. I was making my payments every month per our agreement, lost my job, still making the payments and they aren't keeping their end of the bargain up with the agreed settlement amount.

i owe money to at&t and t-mobile and i am trying to find the number to the collection agencies so that i can make a payment plan with them. does anyone know what number i should call and/or who i should talk to?

Him My wife and I have had major financial problems since I was laid off 6 months ago. We had gotten a few PDL's and were getting eaten alive by fees like everyone else. We have been trying to make good on all the loans and even signed up with Town & Country (who seemingly have done nothing). They are all extremely unwilling to make payment arrangements that we can afford, like one wants it paid off in 2 lump sums, and they all claim it has to be paid off in 2 months at the latest.

Hi everyone, I just received a threatening phone call at work from a law firm saying that I will be served with a summons unless I agree to pay $$$ to National Group LLC (pay day loan) right now. Since I dont recognize the name of this company, I asked for the phone# to speak to them directly. The attorney refused and told me that they were taking me to court and I would have my wages garnished. I got this loan online in Dec 2009. I set up repay thru my bank acct. The company, National Group never sent me an email telling me that I had not paid them.
