When I file a lawsuit against a collection agency, can I file the lawsuit in my own state? Or do I need to file the lawsuit in their state?

I just received notification from my employer that this company infact did call regarding using the computer on compompany time. I want to know what I can do to prevent and further communication with this company. On 5/17/10 @ 3:50(PM) I RECEIVED A CALL FROM A MAN THAT INDENTIFIED HIM SELF AS SPECIAL AGENT STEVE WISENBERG, COMPLIANCE DIST #209 W/THE SIBER CRIME UNIT UNDER DALLASTOWN & YOE, PA. HE THEN STATED I COMMITED A FEDRAL CRIME AND CHARGES HAVE BEEN FILED UNDER CASE# 562469PAF. HE THEN STATED I WAS BEING CHARGED WITH FRAUD, BAD CHECKS AND THEFT BY DECEPTION.

I just had a question about dealing with a collection agency that would be collecting for a pdl. Now I don't have one that was sent to a pdl, but they are threatening to send mine out to one. the account I talking about is with pdl ventures (possibly High country, I know they change their name alot). My original loan was for 300, so far I've paid them 145, but of course they claim that i owe like 500, what I'm doing is mailing them in payments for the remaining balance of the 300. I have been receiving calls from Allied Interstate for at least six months now regarding some debt owed by my ex-WOLF and her significant other as well as two other people with whom I am not acquainted. I have repeatedly told them that I have been divorced from my ex-wife for twelve years now, that she has never lived at this address, nor has my current telephone listing ever been hers. I have three different numbers at my residence with two of the numbers being those for each of my kids.
