Debt Consolidation Loan vs. Ch. 13?

15 years 9 months ago
I am wondering what the best option, in your opinion, for my husband and myself to work out our financial problems would be. We struggle and barely get by paycheck to paycheck, I have had to ask my mom for help just to keep the power on recently. We have a huge car payment, insurance, at max 7 allotments, and sometimes don't have enough for gas for him to get to his base. I have a title loan on my car from awhile back so that I could pay two of our larger bills. I don't know what to do anymore. I thought about a debt consolidation loan, but don't know if it's such a good idea.

Has anyone ever heard of this company?

15 years 9 months ago
Hi to all, yes I received a call from some PA Enforcement through my father and their number is 1800 403 7500. They also said the same case number that I had with my account with Profile Recovery Group, another horrible collection agency. I was wondering if these two companies were the same as a result from an old payday loan from payday-loan-yes and I'm trying to pay them back. Also, when I called this number, there was a mention of PA Enforcement and it lead to "please hold for the next enforcement officer?" That's kind of intimidating by itself don't you think?

Free File Tax Websites

15 years 9 months ago
I learned a valuable lesson this year while filing taxes. Not ALL free file sites listed on the irs.gov website are reliable! The website I used this year was FREE 1040 TAX RETURN.COM INC / aka do your taxes . net. There is no customer service telephone number where you can actually ask questions if needed, no Admin name, no email address, etc. Only an area to type questions. After asking questions, it takes days and days to receive a repsonse and the replies are generic. There website server was down for days at one point and they seldom update their site.

Mr. Steve Rhode...would you please comment on the following post that has been circulating about you. I have been to your "Get Out of Debt Guy" website where you vigorously attack many debt settlement companies........please don't tell me that you are another scumbag diverting attention from his own misdeeds to make money while besmirching others at the same time.

Stolen car debt

15 years 9 months ago
I have got my car stolen about five years ago. It was reported to the police and the lender was informed promptly. Long story short, I have since moved to a new address in another state. Recently when I pulled out my credit card report I see a debt of $5k listed in my report. It is just the amount I owed on my car at that time. Am I required to pay on the stolen car debt?

What is the best way to pay off debt

15 years 9 months ago
I have debt of around $25k in credit cards. I have been making payments to these without fail for last three years. But I pay only the minimum since I can't afford more than that. The simple debt calculator says that it'd take me more than 18 years to pay off my debt at this pace. I don't want to extend it that long. What can I do to eliminate debt without hurting my score since it has been in mid 700?

Payoff debt before buying home

15 years 9 months ago
We are planning to buy a house. However, both my husband and I carry several thousand dollars debt in credit cards. We are so far current on our cards, but considering to pay off some to increase our score further. However, I'm not sure if this would be a good idea since we are planning the big purchase. Can an effort to pay off debt hurt our score instead of improving it?
