After you answer a summons, does the court send you mail to notify you of a court date and if so - how long does it take? This is for Georgia.

Suttell & Hammer P.S. served me with a papers that I was supposed to respond to in twenty days or they were going to take me to court for a debit with Capitol One. I responded to their their compaint but instead of filing for a summary Judgment they are trying to go after a default judgement. Suttell & Hammer even states in their petition for default judgment that they recieved my responce. Also I have an attorney that I pay to help with my collection debt that also responded to clear the matter up and Suttell & Hammer has refused to respond to their requests.

I have been settling debts with credit card companies. Two down and 3 to go. In addition, I have a personal line of credit unsecured, at a Calif state chartered credit union. Does anyone have experience in settling debts with credit unions?

I live in Colorado, and I received a summons and got a judgement against me. I no longer work but I do have a bank account, How long does it take for the creditor to garnish my bank accounts?:confused:

My wife & I recently e-mailed Credit Solutions to ask a few questions about the company. Not only did they not answer our questions back via e-mail, they are constantly calling our home number every day with pushy sales tactics. Despite numerous attempts to ask them to stop calling, they continue to call. Am I wrong to get the feeling that they are just after me for whatever money they think they can get from me?

I have a judgment against me for between $15 - $20k. I currently have child support deducted to the maximum allowable for NY State (25% of disposable). I own a car but if it were seized and sold, the net profit would be less than $1000. I don't have a checking or savings account but have a small 401k (less than $4k). My wife and I have no joint accounts and the house is not in my name. Assuming for a moment that they try, what can they possibly do to me? Worst case scenarios please :(

Hi, just wondering if anyone could help me? I am currently having my wages garnished thru my employer for a student loan. I have had my wages garnished for approx 8 months now & they take approx $500-$600 a month ($250-$300 every 2 weeks). After they started the garnishment I was no longer able to make my agreed mortgage forebearance plan & in Jan. my house was auctioned off after foreclosure & I have been trying to get back on my feet & find a place to live.
