Anyone know of RJM Acquisitions?

15 years 10 months ago
Going over my bank statement this A.M. I notice a $58.84 withdrawal from RJM Acquistions. Never heard of them. So I google them. Find out they are a scumbag collection agency in New York State. They buy out of date or SOL accounts and try to collect. Even try to collect from people who have never had an account with OC. The report goes on and on. I recently received all 3 of my CRA's. No RJM anywhere. Go through all my records. No RJM. These people are outrageous!! My Question is what action do I take?

Chase settlement agreement

15 years 10 months ago
I have a Chase credit card where I owe about $14,000. I am more than 3 months behind, and Chase has offered to settle the account for $4300. They sent a letter with all the terms of the settlement agreement. They are requesting I pay the $4300 in 4 payments. Everything looks good, except that nowhere in the letter does it specify how the account will reported to the credit bureaus. I've called several times and asked them to include some language (i.e.: account paid in full, with a remaining balance of 0.00), but they refused.

Lawsuit

15 years 10 months ago
Hello I wanted to get some feedback to see if you all think I am doing the right thing. I am being sued (in MO) for a debt originally owned by Chase/Circuit City. The current owner, Ozark Financial Group LLC is suing me through Miller & Steeno who from what I hear owns Ozark Financial. They are trying to collect over $6000 on a debt that was never over $2000. On top of this, I never recieved a letter from them initially, just a phone call on my cell phone at work. The lady simply said I have 30 days to come up with an arrangement.

Threatening Phone calls

15 years 10 months ago
I got a call from the Law office of William Sokol telling me they were going to garnish my check. I went onto the Better Business Bureau's website it says that it is out of business. I didn't appreciate the threatening way they guy spoke to me. I offered to pay in installments and he told me no they could accept $150 today and the rest had to be paid in full my next check. The total owed was $960 supposedly. Has anyone else had this problem or gotten calls from this same law office.

PIF from CPD!

15 years 10 months ago
Well, yesterday I called Credit Protection Depot yet AGAIN. I was informed that the decision was made to consider my accounts (with paydaymax and discount advances) paid in full. (YAY!) I asked for that in writing and she told me I had to request it in writing via their Canada address. I have to call back today to get that fax number. She said that no refund would be honored at this time. I'm going to keep on writing to them and faxing and calling to get those refunds though. They owe me over $3000 collectively!! As everyone else has said, I'm happy to have the PIF...but I want my refund.

Loan on TV

15 years 10 months ago
Back in 2008 I had bought a HD TV which had defects. We went back and forth with the dealer to get it changed. Long story short, I no longer own the TV. However, it was bought on a loan and the TV was put as a collateral. Two days back a collection agency called me up for that loan. They have also threatened to repossess the item if I don't pay them. I've explained to them that I longer possess the said TV. Am I still responsible for the loan? What recourse do I have (if any)?
