Here is my situation... I owe around $36k on six credit cards and $1000 on 3 pdls. I am behind on four of my cards. My entire paycheck goes into paying the fees to the pdls which take the money out on every two weeks. I take home around $2200 per month and have a family of four to feed. I am the head of the household. I want you guys to tell me whether I should look into settling with my creditors or file BK. I'm really stressed out and don't know what to do. - Cherry

i recieved a letter like most here from rjm acq giving me options to pay on a debt the bought it looks like. what i find funny is that this debt is over 20 years old..i have heard that the SOL has passed heck it's 3 times past the SOL..is there anyway to get them to stop waisting there time and paper...lol..and since it has been so long am i obligated to pay them?

My Dad passed away in July of 08. Before he died he made me beneficiary of an annuity which I have no knowledge of annuities what so ever. I recieved a letter today saying I owe 15k. I called one of the Tax Debt relief places that are online, and they said thru them they could take of the debt by paying 270.00 a month for 60 months.... charging 6% interest.. My other problem now is my 2009 tax filing. I was told and led to believe that annuities were tax exempt..

if you are in a debt managament like swift rock and decide to drop out can you get a refund of monies paid into the fund

How would this work? I have 5 different credit cards. 2 with 5-6 thousands balance. I know if i stopped paying those two and concentrate on the other 3 it will put my other two into default and my credit score will be bad. Can i still try to pay my other 3 low balance credit cards? will this help/repair my score? I'm planning to settle my other two high balance. Please advice how how this can be possible? what are the consequences? thanks

Historically for the account, I have been on time -- the stickler is that I was late in returning equipment by over 60 days. This has gone to collections and I'm not sure how to handle this. What is my best move now? The key thing is I need to avoid any affect on my credit rating because I'm looking to qualify for a mortgage in a few months. I'm thinking of a Debt Validation Request? If it comes down to it and I have to pay them off, then I will -- as long as there's nothing on my credit report.

I have a problem, I filed chapter 13 in January of 2008. The debts were from prior to that around 2006, my bankruptcy is scheduled to continue until May of 2013. The problem is, the attorney mislead me and I will NOT get a discharge in May of 2013, when I confronted him about this he told me, dont worry nobody will be looking for you then. Not really a solid answer. Is there a statute of limitations on the debt regardless if I am in a chapter 13 or not? Considering the debt is f rom 2006 and it will be 2013 will it pass the 6 year statute of limitations. Any help is appreciated.

I've looked at all sorts of forums and most of the time I get advice that doesn't help...mainly things like 'you should pay your debts' ....well my debts are paid, except for student and car loans that I am current on. But I have past things in collections on there. Everyone always tells me i can get them removed, but i've had no luck. I feel incredibly shackled here, like i can't do anything. it's a neverending rut. And with new laws, i hear credit cards are even harder to get. I'm just really discouraged about my future.
