Decided to not sign up with FDR.. what now? few questions

15 years 10 months ago
Sorry it so long, I just have a few questions listed below if you dont want to read, any help would be great. For all of 2009 I had a 10% pay cut at work. At the beginning of 2009 I was already 7k in mostly medical debt but was able to keep up on payments . When I received the pay cut It was supposed to only be temporary, for a few months max so rather than make adequate life changes I transferred that -500$ a month deficit into my various lines of credit. So here we are, 2010 and I finally have my full paycheck back.

Take Charge America

I've received these National Debt Relief letters. Put them in the shredder - they're bogus. Through my bank, I have contacted Take Charge America to handle my debt. Look them up - they are legit and very helpful in helping solve your debt problems - as well as establishing a livable budget.

Completely stuck

I sent out a dispute to Cra about negative remarks on my Credit report the CA never validated my debt and sold it to anohter CA whom also never validated the debt(I sent out validation request to both of them and have return reciepts) Experian and equifax removed the negative remarks but transunion didnt. I sent them a MOV letter there response to me was that they either verified it by phone email or other electronic means but nothin specific in respect to this debt. So there is no solid evidence from CA or Transunion on this debt.

Wells Fargo about to charge off HELOC. What do I do now?

15 years 10 months ago
Hi Everybody. As you may know, I have been very involved in this forum through the settlement of all of my credit cards at about $165,000 with an average settlement of 30%. Now I have my last issue to deal with: my home. I had a purchase agreement on it in 2007 (that obviously did not close) for $600k. It is now worth about $250k (which is my first mortgage balance with WF).

New CA calling - should I call be and ask for Dunning letter?

15 years 10 months ago
Today got two calls from a firm that hasn't contacted me before, Weltman, Weinberg and Reis. Auto message half cut off giving me a phone number. So should I call them back tomorrow and say nothing other than send me your Dunning letter? Wondering if it's better to talk to them since they then must send the Dunning letter (which I will DV right away) or just let them keep calling all the time for awhile? I'm not really worried about the calls themselves bothering me. Curious about what is better "procedure"?

CSO's in Texas, Just so you know!!!

15 years 10 months ago
A number of "PDL" companies are legal in Texas, because they operate under the CSO model (the same model that storefront payday loan companies work under, as well as some "credit repair" services). In the state of Texas, CSO's are governed by Chapter 393 of the Texas Finance Code (and, incidentally, by Title 1 Chapter 74 of the Administrative code, which is identical wording of a few of the Finance Code statutes).
