I have two seperate judgements one in TX and one in FL. I currently live in TX. I am wanting to start paying the judgements off so in the next couple years I may be able to buy a house. I know in some states you can file directly with the court to pay the amount back in installments. Is that an option in TX and FL?

Hi, I need to settle the debt and the Collection Agency for citibank did not accept anything other than check over the phone for payment (4 payments). I gave them the Chase checking account number for the first check post dated on 15th of this month. Other than the risk that they won't send out the settlement papers and just apply the payment to the balance , can they just go into my Chase checking account and collect the money anytime? I have not been sued by them yet.

For those of you who have done it, are there parameters? For example must I be out of a job? I have read all the posts and I understand about your needing to be close to charge off status but if you have roughly 90 days and 5 credit cards how do you make that work out time-wise when you have quit paying in order to gather funds for the settlement? I made a mistake by negotiating with a CA over the phone. The debt is 6 years old, and I made payment arrangements with them without validating the debt. Would that be considered acknowledgment or can I still send them the letter? I didn't know before! Is it too late for me?

I am used to live with my parent in Los Angeles County, now I have moved to Santa Clara county in California for a few years(400 miles away) and yesterday my parent found a stack of paper dropped in front of their house saying I have been sued in Los Angeles County...Can they just sue you at any county even that is not where you live?
