I have received summons and plan to send the DV letter. Not sure how. I looked at the sample in this website but i think it is not what i'm looking for since it contains some sentences that do not imply to me. Besides that do i have to send the DV letter to the attorney that represent the CA or CA itself or both?? My account was originally with WAMU then transferred to Chase since i think WAMU is no longer exist then sold to Cavalry portfolio LLC. What is the best thing to do to avoid court & do the settlement outside court?? Anyone has other samples of DV letter?? Thank you !

I just received a summons from plaintiff Cavalry portfolio Services LLC and it uses local attorney to represent them. I have also received the Statement of Account from Cavalry abt my account, affidavit of claim & Bill of sale & assigment of account together with the summons. Are they the proof of DV that i owe the debt??. I'm not sure how to response/ act to this summon. It says that i have 30 days to dispute this debt & answer the filed petition. There are 2 number of statement in the petition. First one is i entered into a revolving credit w/ certain MasterCrad/Visa Card.

if the credit card companies were bailed out are you still obligated to pay them back? seems like that would be a double payment to them..i had been paying money every month to a lawyers office to pay this off as the credit company put a judgement against me, had not reconciled my bank statements for a couple of months and recently realized the lawyers office has not taken out the last 3 monthly payments for some reason ( ?? )

Well, it's hitting the fan with a law firm hired by Citibank for an old Mastercard. Served court papers a few days ago and know that I must answer the complaint. I can't fully deny the debt as I sent a negotiation letter less than a year ago which was, naturally, ignored. Since I can't even send a validation letter at this point, my only recourse seems to be to insist that the lawyers provide me with as much info as they can, such as copies of credit card charges, original contract, any collection and/or legal fees, etc.
