Your advice is appreciated

Over the years, I've accumulated roughly $80k in unsecured debt (3 credit cards A, B, and C). To simplify, I'll break the cards down to $30k, $30k, and $20k. As most of you know, the stress level of having debt, let alone this much debt, becomes overwhelming at times. I was lost and intimidated by the whole ordeal. Truly one of those "I wish I could turn back time" phases in my life. At $1500-2000 just for monthly minimums, I stopped making payments as of December 2008 and have gotten calls to stop as well with C&D letters. Fast forwarding to now, I recently got a summons for a civil suit.

I am starting the process of fighting to get through this payday loan mess. I live in VA and have 5 active loans out. They are the following: VIP Loanshop borrowed 300 paid PDL Center borrowed 300 paid 500 Cash Supply borrowed 500 paid 775 Viking/Loanshop borrowed 500 paid 950 Instant Cash borrowd 400 paid 945 Does anyone have any information about how these specific companies handle the certified letters/emails and closing the accounts? I am going to my bank tomorrow to close my account. I also want to draft complaints to the VA AG's office and BBB.

Bank levy on joint account.. Not married

Me and my girlfriend have a joint bank account with Bank of America that had a bank account garnishment put on it 2/18. My pay check from work went in 2/20. Found out that Capitol One had obtained the levy in Henrico County, VA. We lived in Virginia Beach for about six months then moved to MA in 11/2007. She has recieved numerous calls and notices in the mail from Capitol One and even made a settlement on a different account with them from our current address in MA written all over it. Long story short she was never summonsed to go to the court.

Arrow Financial Services Collection

So I received a civil summons late last year as I am being sued by a "lawyer" out of Chattanooga, TN who is representing Arrow Financial Services who bought the debt from HSBC (which I never had a cc with). So I originally had a court date of 2.2.10 or something like that. I sent a debt verification letter to both the "lawyer" and Arrow. I never received the green USPS receipt of delivery/signature card back from Arrow but did receive it from the "lawyer" and then later received a letter stating the court date has been pushed back to May so they can gather their information.

DV Question - Daniel N Gordon & Assoc.

I have a credit card debt from Applied Bank that is now with a law firm/collection agency, Daniel N. Gordon & Associates, based in Eugene, Oregon. When I got the letter from DNG in June 2009, I sent a debt validation request, as well as making a "cease and desist" request regarding contact. Yes, I did send it certified mail and have the return receipt and a copy of the letter. DNG never responded with to the DV reuest and never tried to contact me. It has always been my intention to pay back Applied Card Bank in full, but wasn't able to until November 2009.
