I am getting a decent sized Lump Sum (Tax Return) and want to pay off several outstanding Debts (long Charged off on Credit Report). What is the percentage I can expect to negotiate down to? {ex: credit card ABC - I owe $1600 balance - what can I expect them to settle for with a 1 shot payment?}

how many companies can garnish your check?? my husband's check is being garnished right now...can another company garnish his check at the same time? (can 2 or more companies garnish your check all at once?) what is the highest percentage they can garnish from him? now that he's filing for bankruptcy, can they stop garnishing his wages?

is there such thing as credit repair? where they fix ur credit report and scores etc? if i was to make payments on my past collections that are on my credit report..how long will it take an effect on my credit report? (when you pay for past collections, how fast will it show up on ur report)

2 make story short... my husband is filing for bankruptcy chapter 7. were debating whether we should add up our car or not. he has a secured loan with citifinancial. (collateral) u know, if he dont pay, they'll take his car. the car is FULLY PAID. the only thing were paying for is the insurance and the loan from citifinancial. NOW..the car is not working for about 4-5months now. were paying citifinancial lil by lil. he's paying the amount due on time etc. now that he's filing for bankruptcy..here are the questions.. -should we add the car/citifinancial to the bankruptcy also?

Hi i just found out i have a hold on my bank account. the court order was in a different county. i moved in sept. and the filled in nov. what should i do? how do you show them proof if some of the money is child support and unemployment? thanks for any advice.

Hey I have a question about 1099c - how long does it generally take to arrive? Do the companies send a copy to your house? I want to do my taxes, but I am afraid I will recieve my 1099cs in the mail after I file. I'm just not sure whether they will send one this year or next because I settled at the end of 2009. (Last settlement payment on one account on Dec 25th!) Does anyone have any experience with this? How long does the process usually take? Thanks!
