LTD Financial services

Hi--I am a member here but haven't posted in a while so don't remember my log in or password. ugh! anyways, I'm curious about something, LTD called my husband on HIS cell phone about a HOME DEPOT account that was in my name ONLY. They kept calling his cell phone and harassing him about when I was going to pay this account off. First off, we have no idea how they got his cell number, and secondly, can they discuss MY account with him when he's not on the account?

Wage garnishment in Utah

I have tried to research this and honestly can't find a real straight answer. Can you get your wages garnished in Utah from a credit card company. AND if they can do it does it happen after a really long time of not settling?

One step at a time...

In November 2009, I began on my road to recovery from years of mounting debt....that "monkey on my back." Thanks to the wonderful Debt Consolidation Care forums and sample letters, I have eliminated 11 negative tradelines (with only 1 Pay for Delete). And, I am in the process of settling another account with a collection agency (yes, "settled" with a $0 balance...tough dealings with Debt Recovery Solutions). I still have a few accounts on my credit report that show closed/charged off with $0 balance...just going to let them fall off over the next few years.

How can I take off a satisfied judgment from my credit report?

I have a judgment against me from a repossessed car which has been paid off through wage garnishment. I'm now looking to buy a house and IMO this record is hurting my possibilities of getting a mortgage (you know how these lenders are now). I was just wondering if this item can be taken off my report anyway. Any suggestion would help.

Bankruptcy VS satisfied judgements / charge offs ?

I had great credit until 2 years ago. I was able to sell my house before I ever missed a payment so I have great mortgage history. I did however get a car repossessed, and several accounts go to collections. I currently have about $28,000 in collections / outstanding debts, and a $5000 judgement. My goal is to own a home again as soon as possible. What is the quickest way to once again qualify for a mortgage? These are the realistic options that I have: I could settle the debts. I estimate I could settle for about half of what I owe, and have this amount paid in about 2 years.

Ace Cash Services

Hello, I took out a loan with Ace Cash Services(866-840-2030) for $300 back in January. I didn't make any payments on the loan because I closed my bank account to stop having other PDL companies withdraw money. I spoke with Ace yesterday and set up 3 payment plans of $140 each for a total of $420. I've read on a lot of threads on here that Ace is really hard to deal with. The questions I have is are they licensed anywhere? I live in PA and I know that PDL are prohibited in PA but I thought they were legal as long as they were licensed in another state.

Do's and don't for dealing with a collection company

Do's: *know your debt ( many people get calls on false debt and end up paying it) *Know the statue of limitations on your debt. (again many people end up paying when the SOL has expired) *Keep a written record of every call (full name of caller, name of company, employee identification number, and yes they have one don't let them tell you they don't) *Never tell them you wont pay your bills. Alot of these scumbags will try to get that on tape for court reasons. Just simply repeat that you can only afford x amount per month to pay it off.

Debt settlement question

I have several credit cards in my name only (not spouses), with a total balance of around 40,000. While I am currently making most of the payments, with 2 kids in college, it is becoming more of a problem. My question is this. Does anyone here have any experience in settling a debt for a longer payment term than 3/4 months. I want to pay these off over a term of a few years...depending on the balance we settle upon.
