I haven't been able to get my ex-husband to pay child support and lost $4,000 in income since last October, otherwise I would have paid it off. I owe $7,700 and the minimum payment will be so high starting in March I won't even be able to pay it. I'm on the phone right now with CreditAnswers--does anyone have advice for me?

I am wondering how low does your credit score go when you settle your credit cards? We are going to try to settle 5 totalling about $80,000 total. Currently our credit is decent with a score just over 700..I know it will get hit hard..but how bad?

Not sure where to start. Home was worth 150k, now 110 maybe. Mortgage is 105 with BoA 2nd mortgage for 25k citi another 12k credit debit with BoA and 3 with chase. I'm having trouble keeping up with payments and not sure what to do. Credit right now is pretty good.

Hello, I received calls the past week from #866-679-4046 which I know is the collection agency ARMs. Back in the beginning of January I took out a $200 loan through Beacon. They took out $89 from my bank account in finance charges before I closed my bank account. I never heard from them after that until this ARMs collection agency started calling me. The man stated that I owe $378.

When a Writ of Garnishment for Continuing Lien on Earnings is done for 60 days, what happens with the debt that hasn't been paid within the 60 days? Can they file another 60 day Writ to collect the remaining funds due or are they limited to the funds they can collect in the 60 days?

I have a student loan thats been in default since 1992.The loan keeps changing collection agencies,every time it does,a new negative report gets placed on my credit file. are they allowed to do this even though the loan is over 18 years old?

I just settled Citi Business Credit Card at 40%. I was 181 days late and my account would go to outside collection agency so I took the offer. I didn't wanted to deal with a CA since my other account with them ( personal master card ) already went to UCA at 140 days. Citi Business Balance was around 12K. They said I will receive the confirmation within 7 to 10 days and I made a $300 first payment over the phone. All my other cards are offering 93 days payment but Citi said I need to pay this one in 60 days which will be taugh but I will do whatever I can. This forum helps a lot. Thanks.

Hi all, I'm back again :) Thanks to the advice I've found or gotten on here, I've made some headway into getting out of the PDL cycle, but now I have another question. I defaulted on a loan with Checksmart last month. The original check was written for 912.00 but with fees & all, the total I owe is now a little over 1000. I got a letter from Buckeye Lending regarding the debt & have been getting calls from an 866-354-0567 number.

When you have your acct placed on a "deposit only" status, how do you get at your funds? No ATM or checks clear either? Can you then later, say, 6 months down the road, have it converted back? Thanks!
