Hey, is anyone else getting weird calls from Capital One. They call me all the time (at least once a day). Someone asks for me and I respond. Then the call ends. It's very bizarre.

I was recently served with a summons from nathan and nathan p.c.(can anyone tell me about them). What i was wanting to know is, once served with a summons, has anyone been able to work out a deal with discover?, and get the summons called off. Also, it says, that is from the acct manager of dfs services llc. Are they a collection agency for discover? How do i handle this? Any and all help is greatly appreciated! Im petrified as i have never been in this situation before.

i have a debt with qwest that appears to have been sent to allied interstate, i recieved a letter from them stating if i pay the debt in 40 days they will not report it on my credit report. i am just wondering if i should pay the debt to them or request a debt validation before paying? Thanks for the help

trying to make this as short as possible with as much info as i can. LETTER ONE: i received an Asset letter the other day on a debt that went bad before 1993 and every year or 2 in the past 5-6 yrs? (since the laws changed allowing these people to collect like this), i get a letter stating that i owe money on this acct. the other thing about it is the acct. is in a prev. married name that i have not "owned" and changed when i got divorced that same year-1993. and as you have figured out, it is way out of sol.

Hey all, I know that most debt settlements made with a collection agency involve a lump sum -- like $2000 to settle a $4000 debt. Is it possible to negotiate a settlement AND payment plan with an agency? In other words, $2000 for a $4000 debt paid over 12 months at $167/month?
