Bank of America Settlement letter vs offer Question

16 years 1 month ago
I have a miracle in the works, but I need to know if it is valid. I have a letter from a collection company that is handling a debt for Bank of America. I am making 4 payments to this company. The settlement is for one payment per month. I have made 2 payments so far. The 3rd payment is due in 2 weeks. HOWEVER, I just received a letter from Bank of America thanking me for the 2 payments and saying my debt was settled in FULL. It is a full blown settlement letter saying they will report it to the credit beaureus as SETTELED. I cannot believe it.

Unsolicited Settlement Letter

16 years 1 month ago
Greetings to all! First of all...THANK YOU and THANK YOU again!:D:D:D All of the posts and forums have been extremely helpful. Got a lot of unsecured debt and I had my day of reckoning about 70 days ago. So here I am. And the journey begins. Citibank sent me a settlement letter (unsolicited by the way) for 45% on $14,000 account. From a G.Stevens, Vice President no less! And offered to let me pay it out over 90 days. After calling the 866 number and listening to the company dude....I couldn't budge him down from 45%. My questions for all of you experienced folks; 1.

Item deleted from credit file

16 years 1 month ago
I have finally got Verizon to delete their negative entry from my Equifax credit report. After almost 2 years and numerous calls I finally managed to obtain that. My question is once an item is deleted from your credit file it goes away from all 3 credit reporting agencies or it was just deleted from Equifax? I know my question is silly but I have no idea what;s the answer.

Pro Se - Crossing out statements?

16 years 1 month ago
According to the guide on filing Chapter 7 Pro Se: "ALL BLANK SPACES AND LINES ON EACH FORM must be completed. Some forms (Schedules E, F, G, and H, and the Statement of Financial Affairs) contain boxes to indicate that the debtor has nothing to report or a question does not apply. On all other forms, a debtor should either insert “N/A” or “None” in response to any question or request for information that is not applicable or should cross out a printed statement that does not apply and initial the cross-out." [LEFT]So, i.e.

Is Agreed Judgment The Only Way?

16 years 1 month ago
I have a credit card debt for $15,300 which is a little under 4 yrs old, so the SOL has not been reached. I was sued by the collection agency and called them, and they agreed to accept $50/mo. from me. I told the lawyer I would need in our written agreement a statement that they are withdrawing the lawsuit and agree not to file a future lawsuit, provided the payments are made on time. He agreed. However, in talking to his assistant today, she said they're preparing the documents for an agreed judgment, and checked with the lawyer and he confirmed it.

credit report impact: consolidation vs impact

I am in the position to easily handle either debt management (consolidattion) or settlement. Which will have the most negative impact on my credit rating? In the long run? In the short run?

Progressive Finance

Does anyone know if Progressive Finance is legal in Ohio? They state they are a PDL Company...but they structured the payments so that part of each payment goes toward the payoff. So I borrowed $400 and my payment was $120 each month because I get paid monthly. I haven't made any payments however.
