A debt collector called my parent's house and left a message stating that they're filing a lawsuit against me, and recited my full name and last 4 digits of my social security number. Is this legal for them to disclose such information on an answering machine, especially when it's not even me they called?

Is MYCashTime licensed in Texas? If not, then what do I need to do since I have a loan with them. Have only paid one payment of $75 on a loan for $300.

Going to try to keep this short and to the point... I've began to settle my accounts, the settlement offers are okay, but hey.. I just want to get out... Everything is negotiated, and I've given my banking information out to banks and CAs. After finding this forum and my own anxieties, I feel this is a bad move... However neither the banks or CAs would allow me to pay any other way. They would always tell me if I wait the offer is off the table. And the only way to agree to an offer is provide them with a bank account.

I had this credit card that got out of hand about 5 years ago. The original amount I charged up was approx. $5250. With fees it is now $9000. I lost my job and couldn't pay it. About a year and a half ago Providence Dane purchased my debt and started contacting me. They have placed a judgement against me and yesterday a cop came by and started asking what personal property I owned. What should I do?

Hello. I apologize for the length of this post but I feel it's important to give background. Last year I started receiving letters and phone calls from a debt collector (Messerli & Kramer) for a Providian Credit Card bill with a last pay date listed in 2004. I asked for validation of this debt and was sent a letter with an account number, an amount owed (without giving away too much detail to protect anonymity, just a hair over 2K) and the date of last payment.

i live in the state of Az and took out 9 loans online. I am currently working with a debt settlement company, if i close my bank acct is that considered fraud. and the calls just keep on coming
