I have read alot of good advice in this forum and I am in need of some myself. I had a car loan 3 years back and I lost my job. I had to turn the car in because I was no longer able to afford it. Well a collection agency picked up the tab but I never responded to them. Almost 3 years later I get a summons that I'm being sued for this debt by the collection agency's attorney. I went to the courthouse and filled out an answer form denying the debt and then I sent a request for a debt validation letter to this attorney.

I make 1500 dollars a month I live in a household of 3 I live with my parents. I pay 300 dollars for rent I pay 300 dollars for my business I pay internet and phone bills and electricity bill (150 dollars) I pay GF car insurance $125 (i use car to drive, but car is under her name) Grocery Bills and Neccessities is about 200 1500-700-200-100=500 to pay 35k in dept. I live in Oregon. I don't think I will be able to qualify for a chapter 7 will I? Because I pretty much have 500 dollars in disposable income to pay credit bills.

I don't have an official business (not registered). I'm one of those young adults that run websites and make money doing web design and web administrating. I just call it a business because I am self-employed. I make about 1.5k a month...use to do better but now the economy is so bad and i racked up so much cc dept that I can't manage it anymore. I have 35k, and 2k government dept. I don't want to lose my "business". Will my creditors take it away? I been working on it since I was 16. Now 25. If i filed bankruptcy, chap 7, it takes 10 years right to restore my credit?

i owe a payday loan company 170 dollars that i dont have,...will they take me to jail?

I recently went through a divorce in the divorce the ex wife got the car that was in our name together the car was repossed recently however it is still in our name the letter i got said it would be sold at action only 15 days after it was repossed am i liable and if so is 15 days all they give you to try and get the car back

I live in NC. I saw an ad with Montel Williams in it for MoneyMutual.com where you can get up to $1000 between paydays without a credit check. Our credit isn't great and we are in bad shape with money and just need to get us to our next payday. Before I knew it I was on the site filling it out and it said I was approved. I was so excited. It was with zip19.com for $300. It wasn't until all the fluttering and all settled down that I started thinking that I needed to maybe think more about the company and not the fact of what I think of Montel Williams and check the companies out.

Portfolio REcovery Associates sued me for a 3 year old Chase credit card a few months ago. The case was dismissed with prejudice because PRA could not find any proof that I owed the debt even though the judge gave them three continuances to find proof. Both Chaser and PRA were reporting the debt on my credit reports. Along with the Order to Dimiss, the judge intructed PRA to remove their reporting on my credit reports as per my counterclaim. But Chase is still reporting it.

These debt collectors are such lying pieces of crap.... I am filled with such RAGE!! I do not respond to stupid threats. When I had perfect credit and perfect payments they were treating me like crap.. I send them a NOTARIZED cease and desist letter, recorded it at the county, and all of sudden, my interest rates decrease from 30% to 9.99%, but when I spent three months calling them and the calls were going to India, they just told me to shove it.
