when will the creditors declare charge off. Is there any time frame. If so when?

I have a loan with discountadvances.com that I know I am going to be defaulting on. I have already paid them well over the amount I should have and just can't afford it anymore. This is my question. I have already closed my checking account that they are drawing money from, but I still have another one open. Will they report to any of the check systems that I didn't pay the loan, in return, causing my checks to be declined in stores or anything? Thanks for the help!

I finally found the proposed change for Mass General Laws, my problem is, how do I find out what is going on with it? Right now the exemption for a car is $700. If a car is over that amount, a debt collector can take it to satisfy a judment.......The new amended law is very good..read on.... SECTION 11.

I currently have about $14,000 in debt on two different credit cards (both with a 12.5% APR from Citibank.) I have paid off a decent amount of debt (about 6K in the last year) but am now unemployed and can't make more than the minimum payments so am concerned about how long the bills will pay off. I'm also concerned about my future ability to pay in a few months if I don't find a job in the next month or two. Is debt consolidation program or settlement a good option for me?
