Has anyone ever heard of the law office of william g sokol they contacted me threating a judgement to garnish my wages or put a lien on mu chking acct for a payday loan.

Can I be issued a judgement at a pretrial conference? Or do they wait for a trial date? A certain credit card company is suing me for the amount I owe them - $3,000. I have tried calling them to settle out of court but we cannot reach an agreement, because my low income limits me as to how much I can pay them. They want $3000 in full or in 2-3 payments, and I can only afford $50 a month.

Hello there, I scanned through looking for an answer before posting something redundant. My question is regarding a payday loan. I live in NY state and the bank was Eagle Financial. Last year I called them to have them debit the 200 i borrowed out of my account and back to them right on time. They never did and my error was that I didn't check my bank account to confirm they took it back. A year went by, the confirmation number they gave me long ago tossed out.

"As stated before we are sorry to hear you have not been satisfied with your experience with PDL Ventures. Your account has been marked as settled but there will be no refund issued. Please let us know if you have any questions." Of course not... why would they want to give me back my overpayment? I find it funny that there is never a person attached to these emails. I should email back and say "my only question is when are you shutting down your business" ;)

I have a $1043 debt owned by Portfolio Recovery Associates. They have offered to settle for $729 but will list it as settled on my credit report. Should I pay full $1043 so it is listed as paid in full. Does it make that much difference in terms of my credit?
