Can a disputed item that gets deleted hurt your credit score?

16 years 5 months ago
The earliest my credit history goes back to is about November 2007. I've been doing good so far and my 3 scores are: 713, 668 (experian which shows me as having an item in collections but paid and closed), and 692 However, I had this on there from ONLY TransUnion (they have my score at 713). This makes it appear as though my history started from JAN '03 to OCT '03.

Barclay's settlements

16 years 5 months ago
Hello all....I don't see much info. on here regarding settlements with Barclay card/Barclay's Bank. I am currently on a payment "program" with them that lasts six months. At the end of the six months, I am going to have to suspend payments as my unemployment will have run out. So I will be attempting a settlement. In my past conversations, they have been very tough, not unfriendly, just very, very persistent in trying to get any kind of payment. What kind of settlement can I expect from them? I an hoping for around 40%. Does anyone know if this is possible with Barclay's?

Defaulted student loan

16 years 5 months ago
Okay, I have defaulted on a private alternative student loan. The loan was originally with Chase (TERI loan) and now it has ended up with NES as the collector. I want to make arrangments to pay but they wont have it. Can they still garnish my wages for a private loan? I live in Texas in case it matters. I am confused and dont know what to do as they will not take the payments that I can afford.

Asset Acceptance LLC...yet another thread

16 years 5 months ago
hi i've been searching on here for the correct address to send my dv letter to asset accept. i have of course the po box 2036 on the letter, and the envelope has the same add. i also see in the forums an add. in san antonio. does anyone know what this particular office does? couldn't find another. i think it is ssssoooo important to send your dv letter to the correct address and not to the address that just accepts payments. they probably throw it away there. does anyone know for sure? would appreciate a solid answer as i know these guys are scum. debt is very very old.

I received a summons...now what?

16 years 5 months ago
New to here...although I've been reading for a few weeks. I'm in Colorado and have about $4,000 out in payday loans all except one were store front types, most of which I've already defaulted due to a job loss, then a job change. I'm pretty terrified about all of this, the only light at the end of the tunnel is that I hope to be able to pay them all off by March. Which isn't far off, but feels pretty far.

wording on settlement letter - help!

16 years 5 months ago
Hi I just had a quick question and was wondering if anyone could help me out. I made an agreement to settle an account with HSBC through a collection agency in three payments. They initially sent me a letter regarding my payments, but no word of settlement. So I called them and told them they needed to send me a statement stating that my account would be reported to the credit beareus as "settled in full", and they told me that they didn't report to the credit beareus. And they told me they would send me a settlement letter.

Response from Payday One from BBB

16 years 5 months ago
This company is NOT legal to lend in KY. I have filed complaints with the FTC and Ky dept of finance. This is the response they gave the BBB --- " We maintain DE law applies" is what their statement was in their response. They offered a settlement of $400 -- I rejected and stated AGAIN they are illegal in KY under any loan terms... in KY you must have a liscence to lend in this state. They did agree to pull my phone number from being contacted ever, and not to ACH my account (got it in writing). However, they stated I "could be turned over to the credit reporting agencies"....
