I just checked my status of Paycheck Today's website after I sent them a letter stating I overpaid them, and filed complaints with AG and BBB. Anyway, my status says "CKA" I googled this and got a few different things, one of them being a mediation company. Does anyone know what this means

I found out from this website that the Minnesota law has changed in 2008 and 2009 to better protect the consumer. Apparently August 1, 2009 all internet providers must be licensed with the State of Minnesota before they can provide loans. I have 3 internet payday loans SSM $300.00 - paid $360. Star Cash $300.00 paid $270.00 Ashland $300.00 paid $360.00 I have closed my account several weeks ago and defaulted on these loans. Do I attempt to handle this myself and send the sites the laws or file complaints with the Attorney Genera's office and let them deal with it.

I had a loan deposited for $200 by VIP Loan Svcs. I found out that they are illegal in my state and I sent them a letter revoking authorization. I contacted my bank and asked for a block. They said they could not do a block but they could do a stop payment that would be good for 6 months. I said ok. They called me today and said they can't do a stop payment unless I give the $200 back! This does not make any sense! Why is it up to the bank how I pay back this lender? I sent VIP a letter requesting their address so I could mail payments.

A CA is saying I owe money for a gym membership contract. I agree that I signed a contract with a gym. I under California state law cancelled the contract. The CA is saying that I owe the money because I didnt legally cancel my contract under the terms of my contract. Shouldnt they have a copy of the signed contract to validate that?

I got paid today. I was finally able to get a manager to freeze my account, no ACH's etc. So, I log in today and see all of these transactions pending. What good is a freeze if they still let them come through? I am confused. He said it is common and that they will sit there for a day or two and then be returned. My question is, if I can not even get money out of my account, how can these people put it on hold? Half of these things I don't even recognize...and will the bank return them?

I wrote earlier -- see the three previous posts.. the company is now calling themselves JB Wellington? I can't find them on the internet. They called my job and asked for the payroll department and asked them to call them back and give them an adress to send wage attachement paperwork too. It was the same woman who called me but she gave a different name to the payroll dept and two different phone numbers.

What is the best Debt Management company out there?

A friend of mine used this site before and found it extremely helpful. She recommended it to me. I'll get to the point...I have done some stupid things. One of them was running up a credit card debt back in 2004-2005. I was stupid, irresponsible and truthfully, I was using illicit substances at the time. Several collection agencies have contacted me about this before, but I was never in a position to pay them anything or agree to any sort of installment plan. I am a college student with no current income and very few assets. I live with my parents.

I am currently in deep with credit card debt ($85K) but I have been able to manage making minimum payments each month. Recent economic conditions has resulted in a significant reduction in pay which will make it much harder (maybe impossible) to remain current. I would prefer to do the right thing and pay off my debt but have come to the conclusion that I will probably need to work with a debt management company or credit counselor to get this done.
