i have a garnishment against my wages now from one credit card. I do not make enough for them to receive any money from my wages. The attorney's that sued and received the garnishment on the first credit card are now trying to get two other credit card garnishments of my wages. yes they do have the judgements. Is there a limit to how many garnishments you can have against your wages? Thanks

I have a situation I am not quite sure how to handle. I just got discharged from Chapter 7 BK earlier in Aug. I stayed current on a loan that has a current balance on it of about 4K. It was for a cargo trailer I use for work. HSBC was the OC(orginal creditor) of this loan. I continued to make my payments during the BK process. This loan was discharged during the BK and I did not reaffirm the loan.

If someone is collecting on a gym membership contract that I didnt pay do they have to have a copy of the original contract that I signed? What if I ask for the contract and they say they dont have it?

Am I right in understanding that according to Iowa pdl's that the max loan term time is: 31 days meaning that after the 31 days they can't keep debting your account?

I kept getting calls from this number, 800-697-4981 asking for a return call to a Mr. Newman. This is a phony debt collection agency, "National Action Financial Services." I told them my real phone number (the one they kept calling) and in return they said, are you ****?" (which I was). They asked me my name and I said, "Mary" (wrong name). They said, "OK, we will stop calling you." Now, I am playing with them. I call them several times a day (at their expense!) to harass them back. One rep (a guy) called me a pr**k and I am a girl, so I just laughed at him.

I was laid off in April from my job and started receiving unemployment in June. Just Right Auto Sales had a unemployment assistance program that paid half of your car note while you paid the other half for 11 weeks. For almost two months, I paid my half but they NEVER paid their half. I started getting phone calls about a balance on my account, so when I called them, someone told me that the program was placed on a "hold". Well, they never posted any money to my account so that caused my account to be $500 past due.

I currently make 16.25 an hour, about 33,800 before taxes. I take home around 960 every 2 weeks. Anyone have good budget pointers? I'm looking to get a car soon, so i don't have that expense yet. Rent and util is about 625, and student loan is 270...phone is 70. i'm wondering about how to go about planning to get a car, and also some long term planning...I have a girlfriend who I eventually would like to live with and marry (though not anytime soon)...I'm just looking for help.

If a debt collector sends you a letter saying you have 30 days to respond and if you don't the debt is considered valid. If i did not respond in 30 days and then send them a Debt Validation letter, does this mean if they can't prove it's mine that they can't continue collection activities? Or because i didn't respond in 30 days is the debt legally valid...

I too took out some payday loans on the internet. I have paid the majority of them but there are some that are ridulously high. The most I ever borrowed was 300.00 but according to them I owe them like 350, I have been paying on these for months, months it seems like and the balance has not gone down. Because of all of this, I too had to put stop payments on all of my payday loans because it was getting to where they were taking all my money out. I also was getting NSF's. My bank worked with me and we got it to where I could close my account.

I was wondering if Star Cash Processing has been able to provide anyone on this board with copies of the documents which show they agreed to this loan. I have been asking via phone (when they call me) and via email and have not received anything from them. thanks!!
