is ky illegal

So I eliminated nearly all of my debt last year and fixed my credit so that it's in good standing in order to buy my first house. I took advantage of the first time home buyer's credit and all was well until... I got a letter from Nationwide General Insurance that I'm being sued for $35,000 for an automobile accident I was in a year ago (and at the time I didn't have insurance). I am eligible to file a chapter 7, but I don't want to screw up my good credit! And I have less than $2,000 in debt, so it really is a bummer to have to file the bankruptcy and screw up the next 7-10 years of credit.

I am in PA and have taken out a total of 13 pdl and a car title loan. All of which my husband knew nothing of. I am in so deep I don't know what to do. I have been reading all of your advice and plan to send out those letters. My husband already closed the account. I know I have overpaid most of them already - and will settle all the rest - but my main concern is about the title loan. The thing of this is I still have the title - it was never sent to the original lienholder and when I sent it into the title loan company PennDOT sent it back to me. What are the ramifications of this?

Ok - I am so freakin mad right now I'm shaking. So I have this small installment loan out with a place called Security Finance and it's about $450 and I pay once a month. (I know, should not have got the loan but that's another issue) Anyway, I'm not even 30 days past due yet and the guy shows up at my job today. I couldn't believe it, The receptionist called me and said he was waiting for me and I had no clue what to do, I was so embarrassed. I walked about half over to where he was sitting and just gave him an evil look.

Hi, I just got a nasty phone call from Paycheck today stating that they will send me to collections and if I don't pay up that they will eventually sue me. I took out a loan for $400 and was being debited $120 every paycheck to pay the loan. My husband got laid off, and we were having a hard time paying this loan back. I have paid a total of $480 and they want me to pay an additional $520 in order to satisfy the account as paid in full. I live in Washington State. Can they sue me and garnish my check? I'm really worried.

Hi, Asset Acceptance is claiming I owe them 5,900 and the original creditor is AMEX. I am in the process of cleaning up my credit and do plan on paying back what I can. The problem is, I don't owe 5,900. I have credit reports pulled from last year and two years ago showing I owe AMEX only 1,900. I would like to work with Asset in regards to paying off 1,900. I have sent debt verification both to Asset and Amex and have not received any response.

I had payday loans which I paid off over the internet. Now I keep getting calls from collectors claiming to be either government officers or police officers. they are threatning to pass details of the loan they claim that i owe to the alabama attorney general and to have me arrested. What should i do?
