Just faxed/mailed my first C&D letters and am so scared!

16 years 10 months ago
I am pretty new to this site, but it has given me some hope. I have a loan with Cash Transfer Centers due to come out on Thurs. I owe 600.00 and have paid them over 1000 in interest so far...my next payment is supposed to be 762.00. Then on Friday I have a loan with Discount advances due. I owe 1000 and have paid over 2000 in interest. In my C&D letter I explained that I have already paid the principal due and will not pay anymore...I also requested a refund of all of the extra interest I paid to these scammers. I am so afraid though of not paying them!

Received settlement offer from FNB yesterday. I owe them approx. $14,900. Am around 4-5 months delinquent . The offer is for $3714.00......either lump sum or over 3 months. Has anyone had any dealings with them for settlement? If so,,,,any chance of them going lower? i.e....lower it to $3000 or even lower? thanks.

30+ days after request for debt validation ...

16 years 10 months ago
On 15-May-2009 I sent out Request for Debt Validation to 9 (yes, NINE) collection agencies that were on my credit report. I had the misfortune of being lured into multiple credit card and payday loan deals that I couldn't honestly afford to pay off. It was bad judgment on my part and now I have horrible credit. Of the 9 requests that I sent out, 4 collection agencies have removed their negative listings on Experian, Equifax and TransUnion.

raising credit score

16 years 10 months ago
I have been reading alot on this site all of you have so much helpful information. I just wanted to see if someone could help me out. I'm looking for ways to improve my score. I am currently working with careone to take of my payments with my current accounts. I've been with them since december and all my payments have gone out to the creditors on time. I also have a macy's store card that I have been making all my payments on time with. My question is what else can I do to raise my score? Will my score still go up by continuing to making payments through careone? Thank you for your help.

Two Companys claims they own same account???

16 years 10 months ago
Hello all I have done a credit report and found mistakes that needed to be taken care of. I had notice that one of the judgments was list from worldwide assets. No contact information was given. I disputed the information got it deleted from transunion but it was some how verity by experian. I contact king’s county small claims court which was nice enough to find the records of this judgment.

Need help with Texas cap info

16 years 10 months ago
I have a loan with payday one opened 12/19/08 the loan amount was for $1,000, I have paid $1376.16 to date and STILL owe $800.00 to pay off the loan I have paid the loan and then some....but still owe $800. so my question is: Is there a cap on how much I pay to them for the original loan? I came up with the laws of Texas that state $10 per loan and no more than 48% per year, so does that mean I should pay no more than $480 plus $10 ? Am I only obligated to pay them $113.84 more? Any help is appreciated

Brookwood Loans

Hey, I have had a loan with Brookwood Loans for about 12 months. I recently have fallen behind (a month) and called them to work on a lower payment. They really didnt sound interested in taking a lower payment until I get back on my feet. I offered them half of the monthly payment, but I get the impression they would rather just rack up the fees/interest and then go after a judgement against me. They also mentioned trying to go after my wages. Can they actually do that ?
