Does anyone know anything about "The Bureaus, Inc." out of Illinois? The Bureaus is on the Bud Hibbs website but not much info. Is this a collector/buyer/both? They have passed my account to another collection agency.

I am trying to clean up my credit. I have noticed a couple of things. 1. None of the accounts that were included in my chapter 13 have been updated. They are all still showing a balance owed. 2. I have several accounts from 5 years ago that were student loans that were consolidated that still show a balance due, but that the account is closed, no derogatory notes on them. I know for a fact that these are suppose to be zero balances. Should I disputed the balance amount, or the debt. Would it be better to try and get them off my credit or just update the dollar amount.

If you are self-employed can income be garnished? How would this work?

anyone delt with these people? Can I arrange a repayment plan with them for the principle only without them taking the huge amount they want...180 every two weeks

I also forgot to mention that I was working with credit solutions and they collected over $3,000 in fees. Not a penny went to my creditors. Under credit slutions the debt is assigned to Zwicker & Associates, not Apothaker. I'm confused. Is it assigned to both law firms?

I received a notice that I'm being sued by Apothaker. There is no court date. The strange thing about it is that they sent be two of them. One with an Order for Alternative Service of Process attached and one without. The notice was stamped as received October 3rd, 2008, but i didn't get it until April 28th, 2009. It said I have 20 days to defend. I'm totally confused. I sent a validation letter to them requesting proof that I owe 8, 724.54. along with proof that Discover card assigned this debt to them to collect.

I am ready to graduate from freecreditreport.com I know myfico.com is prob the better one, but I dont forsee making any purchases within the next two years.. minimum. And I want to have more looks at EQ than their program allows. What I am looking for is a service one can buy into for around $25 ( or less ) per month that will let you monitor all 3 bureaus & their scores on demand the way FCR does with Experian. Any suggestions? I've looked, but I would rather hear suggestions before signing up with one service over another.
