I'm considering becoming a Freedom Debt Relief client and live in California. Would anyone be able to elaborate on the comment DS wrote on 5/12/09 about "the law suit affecting only CA clients?" How might it affect them? FDR disagrees with the Department of Corporations' interpretation and hope to resolve our differences without resorting to a law suit. FDR believes this lawsuit affects only California-based customers, and then if only FDR cannot reach an agreement with the Department of Corporations. I hope this clears up some of the confusion for you.

My mother is currently dealing with Weltman, Weinberg & Reis on an old Capital One account. She says she's repeatedly offered to try to come to some sort of settlement (I know!) but they refuse, demanding the whole amount or nothing. Now they've intimidated her into sending some sort of inventory of her "assets." She rents an apartment, had 25-cents in the bank at the time she listed her possessions, no savings, no car and works a part-time retail job to supplement her social security. The problem is her only real asset -- she and her brother jointly own a few acres in another county.

need to send CardWorks Services a val letter but they have 3 to be exact addresses on this letter. this debt is way old but gonna send one anyway to make sure these buggers don't try anything. the address for payment is in hicksville, ny, the address at the top is in old bethpage, ny and the one in the letter is in pittsburgh they give as a kindof contact? address. anyone know? not sending to payment address for sure? also what is this new thing (a paragraph in this letter) that they are required to send info to the IRS for any debt "excused" over $600?

I have been paying off 1st financial bank usa. I have a settlement letter that states after the final payment clears it will be considered paid in full. The settlement was for $9500 of a debt for 17000. I just received a letter and they are stating that the payments are ending and I should contact them about the remaining money and set up another series of payments. I have the letter signed by first financial bank usa stating it will be paid in full. Should I contact them and tell them they can no longer collect. I'm curious what I should do thanks!!

I am currently working with langhorne to get myself out of this payday mess, what I was wondering is anyone who has used them, I have a creditor ace cash services who says they don not work with them. Does anyone know if they just say this or if there really is nothing langhorne can do with them? They're calling me asking to pay now. anyone with any experience in having creditors saying they don't work with these places any info would be greatly appreciated.

So I just got another call from this recovery company... It is actually ACA Recovery.. Anyone deal with them. They are stating they are taking me to court for National PayDay Loan when I know for a fact that it is not possible. She said that since I knew about this being illegal that it was fraud. Opinions anyone?
