I was out of town and someone came to my house and gave my children a summons. I thought summons had to be served directly to me, is it valid if it was given to my children? It is from an attorney's office in my state (MN) and it's for an American Express account. But what is odd is that on the top it has American Express as plaintiff and my name as defendant, but it is blank where it says "Court File No." Is this a real summons? There is no court date and no file number.

Is there any way to get the money that was taken out of my account back if it was the money for my mortgage payment?

Has anyone ever been taken to small claims court for a PDL? What should I do at this point. I was served with papers? Another question is I have had a someone approach me as a forgein lender wanting me to send then money to start a loan with them? Is this a good thing????

I need to know what all things are exempted in ch7

I have a pdl with Zip19. Due tomorrow. I can't make the payment tomorrow but can pay the full balance on 6/12. I've talked to them and have been trying to reschedule. They won't let me reschedule and they are threatening to contact my manager. What should I do? I'm trying to make things right and I can't believe how rude they are being.

I filed Chapter 13 last week and today I was informed I am losing my job in 30 days. Chapter 13 is dependent on having an income. My creditors meeting is on 6/29, my job ends 6/30. How can I get a new job that quick? What is going to happen to my case if I don't have a job. I cannot convert to a 7 as I filed a 7 five years ago. I am a Pro Se filer so consulting with my attorney is not an option. I know that if this happened after my plan was confirmed I would be in a much better situation, but I just filed a week ago. HELP!

Not only did I come home from work and find a message from a Debt Collection agency on my machine--it wasn't mine and it was for a totally different person!! AND they identified themselves as a debt collection agency!!! HellllOOOOOOO!!! VIOLATION!!!!! I called the agency, demanding to speak with a supervisor (who admitted they were in Mumbai) and explained this person could sue the pants off them! I also called the business they were collecting for and told them the same thing. I am trying to find the person who they were trying to call and tell her the same thing.
