We have a Visa (24%) and a LOC(7.5%). There is enough credit on our LOC to pay off the VISA, but should we continue to make ontime pmts on both to raise our score, or pay off the VISA to raise our available credit/credit in use ratio?

We are paying off one of the LAST of our credit cards (praise GOD!), Chase. The total due is about $1,100. They said they would settle for $777 but if we paid the entire balance they would recommend we receive the highest fica points available (20). I would LOVE that so I say yes, let's pay the entire balance but wanted to check and make sure this is really something they can do. Anybody know?

I have been dealing with Truaner, Cohen and Thomas for almost a year now regarding a loan I had with Beneficial in 1999. I have repeatedly asked that they prove the balance they are saying I owe (because I DO NOT owe what they are saying, actually I owe nothing but that is not the point). My question is... They put this bad loan balance on my credit which has really caused my credit score to sink. I know they are not allowed to do that regarding the FDCPA but they do not care about the FDCPA and have violated many rules. Does anybody have a recommendation on how I can fix this.

omg just got back from court toady and i won!! JDB has to pay me $4000.00 for multiple violation of fdcpa!!! JDB has just paid all my delinquent debt and i'm debt free as soon as the check comes atleast..we'll see how that goes..should i call them endlessly every hour or so and leave crazy messages? maybe that will get my check faster..or should i send it to a ca for payment..hah hah hah..anyways, thankyou for all the help in the posts out there regarding fair and unfair practices...you guys are awesome!!!!!!!

I am filing bankruptcy and need to know the mailing address for the illegal internet company Discount Advances. If you know what I should use for an address please post. Also, what is their customer care email address. I am blocked from the site now and their goons are after me.

I have a question I am a little confused about the info I will be putting in my letter. For example for TJF I borrowed $300 i have paid $810 to date. My resposibility should have been $315 right? I am in CA.

I'm fighting a few (8) internet payday loan companies about their legality. I'm in payday loan hell and have sent cease and desist letters to them. So far, they have complied except for payday loan yes/fast cash, which responded saying the contract is based on the state of the lender. Just because the contract says so, is that justifiably legal or are they just trying to scare me? I am willing to pay what I owe, but I don't want to be taken advantage of.

i got a dunning letter from nco..28 days later i sent debt validation & c/d letter. that was march 28-nothing has happened since..no calls..no letters ect. the dola on the account was 06/2006(cap1). i'm in ohio and its within state sol. however, i read an article about cap 1 card memeber agreement and virgina sol would be applicable possible..anyway what happens from here? i haven't heard anything from these guys..and sure i guess they could sue me..but haven't in the last 6 when i haven't paid it..so what can really happen? cap 1 still owns account and assigns for collections..
