IRS CNC Status & Stimulus

If you are on the IRS Currently Not Collectable status, can you recieve the 09 stimulus? I know normally they will take the stimulus but I wanted to know if cnc status was different? I recently recieved my levy from social security back (which I thought was impossible) so I was hoping to also recieve this stimulus since my only income is social security and I am on cnc status. Let me know. thanks spirit5150

Repossession, negotiate with original creditor or collection agency?

Thank you for your help! My car was repossed in 2005 by World Omne, sold at auction, and I owed $5800. This was a loan that my grandmother co-signed so that I could get it. I made some payments and got the total down to $2300 and then stopped paying in 2006. The account has been sold to Mercantile Collections. They recently contacted me in March about the debt. I requested a letter of validation, which they provided. I also disputed the original World Omne account with the three major agencies and it was verified.

I've got a mortgage on my credit report that has already been paid for, reporting a balance of $200,000. My question is: What will it take to get this account to report a zero balance?

NCO?

Hey, question - my mother said she keeps getting a call from NCO.. (I believe it was NCO). I am assuming it is for me, as debt collectors always call her house (why is beyond me, I have not lived there in years..) and she is 100% debt free.. (lucky). She always misses this call and I cannot call back the number on caller ID as it beeps whenever I dial it. I did a search here and see they are collectors but does anyone know anything about them? Are they bottom feeders? Who do they collect for? I am assuming HSBC? Why do they always come out of the woodwork when I am rock bottom?
