i have an old charge card that went into collections then charged off as bad debt and sold to junk debt buyer. i haven't heard anything about this card for years..when outta the blue came a phone call. the jdb that has the account was on the phone. my new wife spoke to the gentleman on the phone. the agent said she was liable for the debt and threatened to sue her for her public employment pension, put a lein on her house. can they: sue her if premarital debt, garnish her wages as i am laid off, put a lien on her house, and make a claim to her public employment pension???????

I had a capital one and AMEX credit card account that I did not pay off back in 2006. Now in my credit report I see the status from Capital one is “Collection /Charge off”. Also I don’t see these accounts with any collection company because no one is collecting it infect it does not show up in my credit history under my collection account listings. What does this Charge off means? Can I pay this to Capital one and have it removed from my credit history

What is your opinion, is debt settlement right for me? Married. Credit scores currently Mine:630 Wife:640 Income: $47500 combined yearly.

Can someone tell me the information for T&C? I have talked to a few consolidation companies, and none of them help with PDLs. HELP!!! :(

Hello I just received (4) calls at work from a collection agency within 30 minutes. The company is called Allstate Financial in Las Vegas, NV. She told me it was an outstanding bill from a doctor that the insurance company's amount they did not pay from 2007. The (4) calls I got were rude and demanding. Told me they were going to call my payroll dept and demand the money from there, but my question is that they have to go through legal channels just like everyone Right? Don't they need to file a judgement? and I already have one from the IRS, so can they do this?

Called chase about their BLP program. Now they want a call back with all this infomation on income , morgtage, installment payments etc. Will I need exact numbers down to the penny and some kind of documentation? what kind of documentation will they want? anyone who has done this before? what kind of offer did they give you? owe approx 11K on one and 19k on another.

I have a few medical debts that have gone to collections. One was for $92 dollars which I paid last fall. Now the same account on my credit report lists that the $92 was the original amount owed but the current balance is $202. What's up with that? Has the collection agency added fees and interest to this account even though it was paid? And are they allowed to on medical debt?
