I just had a harassing telephone call from someone who said they were with a legal team. They would not tell me the amount of the debt nor the company. They read a list of charges and made me into a horrible criminal. they said they would be here tomorrow to get me from work or home to go to court at 11:00 AM and that I should be prepared to pay $10,000.00. They said if I valued my life I would have my attorney contact them. I was in shock. He had a foreign accent and the number on work telephone was from out of the country.

has ANYBODY tried to invoke an epp in ohio since the new law went into effect?? can anyone help me out?? please?? i live in ohio where storefront pdls are now "small loans" or "mortgage loans". the loans i have are all licensed in the state, and each is still listed as a member of cfsa (except ace cash express, which is fisca) on their websites!! the loans are with checksmart, ace cash express, and check'n'go. i have called the corporate offices of each and have asked if they still allow epps under the new ohio law, since they are still members of cfsa and/or fisca.

Hi there.. With the new stimulus that Obama has for new home owners, my dad wants to help me buy a house. He has offered to give me the $8000 that you get back when u buy a house this year and then I will pay him after I sign and get that payment. I just pulled my credit report, and unfortunately, have $13,000 in debt on it. What I want to do would to be to settle them down to the $8000 so that I would be able to give that money back to my dad. I don't want to have him pay more then I owe him. Also, how bad does it mess your credit up (can't get much worse than it is now).

I have called and been very unsuccessful in getting a hold of someone to cancel my payment? what should I do?

Can creditors find your bank accounts? If so, how? I'm sure that if you use a checking account to pay a creditor, then they have that information. But what about other accounts? I have seen conflicting information on the web. Some say banking info is private, while others say creditors will send letters to all the local banks, looking for a hit. But would a bank really reveal that information in response to a letter? Wouldn't that be almost like giving out info to a phishing attempt?

As some of you know, we've had a ruff few years. It all started with PDLS and then it all went down hill--- Yes we have prior BK in our history, no I'm not proud of that by any means. But life sometimes happens, and not the way would would like. We first explored Chapter 13, last fall. But we were scared and didn't want to "file again" at that time our attorney told us we would be in the 100% club, due to the fact our 4 years had not yet passed.

I have 3 loans with high interest rates that costs me about $400 a month. I also have furniture with a rent to own company that cost me about $500 a month, along with (2) car payments of $425 each and a house payment of $850 I'm tring to get rid of my furniture payments and loans to help my funds situation. While doing a routine check of my credit last month, I was surprised to find a court judgment for a Warranty of Debt from an extermination company that I had a contract dispute with. The Warrant in Debt was issued in May of last year. When I filed a complaint against the company with the BBB, I discovered that the Warrant in Debt was "posted". We never received any notice of court proceedings and would certainly have gone to court to dispute this.

Hi it is now more than 6 months since USMAC took $3800 from me. On the contract I wrote “refundable” before sighing it and they cashed my money without objecting to altered contract. They advised me to stop paying my mortgage because they will notify the bank that they are representing me. But once I received a notice from the bank, the USMAC denied having advised me to not send payments. I talked to them a month ago and they said over the phone that they will refund me. But so far they have done nothing. How can I get my money back.
