Anybody have any luck negotiating with American Express? I talked to one of their collections agencies the other day and they were the biggest jerks in the whole world. I want to work out some kind of long term repayment plan, but I can't seem to get any where with it. She offered me a 60% settlement, but that is still more than I can do. Any help would be great.

I am sure my Advanta account is well over 210 days past due now. I have been playing this out for a long time and I still haven't seen an offer I can afford. I think Advanta may have charged off my account, because my credit report made reference to it, but I have gotten phone calls from NCB trying to collect the debt before it goes to a private investigator to investigate my assets and liabilities. Anybody work with NCB before or heard of them? What are my best options at this point? I got into a pretty heated arguement with the Lady on the phone.

hello to all! I just got a phone call from a ca pertaining to an auto lease that ended in 2005..now the bottome feeder wants to sue me..any way, doesn't the sol for this action fall under the universal commercial code for leases to commence within 4 years? my 4 years would be up around june of this summer..this debt has been through several ca...i think this is the 4th and now they want to sue...any advise?

Is it legal to place an ad at bloggers site or blogspot if you have not authorized it? Thank you for your answer

Hi everyone, Here is my situation, I went thru a nasty seperation with a boyfriend of 8 years. We had bought a house during the time of this relationship (oregon doesn't have common law). We seperated almost 3 years ago and with the housing market taking a down turn, we've been unable to sale the house for what we owed, and when he stop contributing his share of the mortgage we were force to start a short sale before foreclosure. Good news is, the house is sell pending. I know we are going to have to claim the second mortgage as earned income next year.

I am paying off a debt to Time Warner Cable through CBA. I callled and made a payment the day befoore it was due, now guess what, they double took my money and now I am fiighting to have it returned to my account. It was supposed to take only 3 days for reveersal, it's almost a week later and my other bills can't be paid. For those of you that work for the Hayward,. CA office, what else can I do to get my money refunded to me. I am tired of talking to these voices that sound recorded and rehearsed for the answer I need to know.

If I applied for a forebearance and was granted one, can the student loan company still report me late on payments on credit report? Does a foreberance back date payments and if so can they report me late during such time period? Do they have to report it an in forebearance..or does it stay as 60 days late? What laws govern credit reporting of student loans? Thanks.

How do the settlement letter look like? What need to be on the letter?

...the business was doing great for 4 years and I was paying off the line on time every month with no issues. Since the market has gone into a down turn my business has failed. I was paying the line with my savings and trying to generate new business. At one point I was using my line of credit to pay off my line of credit. I had worked out payments with the creditor but it was like throwing my very limited funds down the drain each month. Now I'm back up to my max (50K) and all the hard work I did with the business has gone down the drain.
