How do I find out if a internet payday loan is illegal in the state of IL? And if I have paid off an illegal payday loan how do I go about getting a refund for the overpayment that I have paid?

Does anyone know a legitimate private lender who can loan me $2500 for a term of 10-12 months? I've already approached my bank and other traditional lenders, and they will not help me, as I have only poor to fair credit.

I've been visiting this forum for a month now as I'm trying to get grips with my debt and paying it off. I have 3 CC with BofA that total close to $28K. We can make the minimum payments on all of them, but want to start tackling balances. This is my experience yesterday. I am current on all my payments, but next month the promotional rate I took out will expire and I will be unable to make the minimum payment. I contacted BofA to try to get a lower rate negoiated before I begin to get behind. They were unwilling to lower my 29% rate. They transferred me to Nova debt - located in new jersey.

I cashed a check from a company to my company and it turned out to be bad. Is that different than a payday loan from this H P Capitol? Could I go to jail? Please advise?

Hi everyone, been helping a family member do their own debt settlements over the last 18 months and was on track working out some great settlements and payment plans. Their debts have all made it to their second and third collection agencies and these people are threatening and harassing them and my family. . His unsecured debts have gotten way too high! I will keep you all posted how things go during this sad process.

I have followed all the advice and instructions from this site and am happy to say that CTC - Cash Transfer Centers - has gone silent....Finally!!! I have overpaid the by $1500+ and sent letters, wage assignment revoke and filed complaints with State AG & BBB. They have removed my login from their site and phone calls have stopped. This morning they were calling my cell phone every 10 minutes. I sent the letters and my access was removed and no more phone calls. Newcomers to this forum......pay attention to the advise given here and you WILL get yourself out of PDL hell!!!

One of my credit card accounts I'm trying to settle was placed with United Recovery Services. I tried to work out a settlement with them but they never responded to my offer which was made in writing. Today when I called them to get the status they told me that American Express had recalled the account and referred me back to them. Then I called Amex and once I typed in my account number I got a recorded message saying that it is now assigned to NCO. What does this mean? I've had no contact yet from NCO yet but I'm sure it's just a matter of time.

Cms is a ripoff as far as i have seen. i have been in the program for 8 months now with Brad paying only 3 payments which by his own admission just broke his own new contract which i still do not have a copy of. also why was this subjuct stop by the moderator do you work for CMS or paid off by them or do you not care if folks on here get riped off

How do you find out which payday loans are illegal in the state of IL? Also if I have paid off an illegal pay day loan am I entiled to a refund for the extra payments? And if so how do I go about getting my refund?
