Well, I lost my job just like everyone seems to be doing now. So "the calls" started coming in and I knew i had to take care of my obligations. Midpoint helped me settle my Washington Mutual credit card for 20% off. It basically took care of the interest and late charges they put on. It kind of felt like i deserved it because banks are getting bailouts and i want mine. They were pretty good even though it felt like they called 10x a day.

I need some advise. We have 3 credit cards (B of A, Chase, Discover) that I am current on totaling about $20,000. I am about to default on an auto loan (Citi) of $2,500 for a car that was totaled 2 weeks ago. I just financed a new used car on Friday to replace the totaled car. I have to charge a $2,500 tax bill maxing out my Chase. We rent our home and are financing two cars and have no other assets, no emergency fund, no savings, nothing. My problem is we can barely make the minimum payments let alone pay down any of the debt.

I had surgery which caused me to be off work, My payments were hard to make but I made them, then the AIR hit and my payments almost doubled. I entered into a repayment/modification and sent the payments as instructed. The lawyer for the bank dated the paperwork wrong so as it was being corrected the paperwork was sent into a separate account. I sent the second payment only to find out the first one had never been posted. The second payment could not be found but I had tracking information that proved it was received.

does anybody have any contact information or address for aom? I have emailed them a c & d letter regarding my account and i would like a refund for all that i have overpaid. I have seen a few success stories on these forums about people getting their money back from them and would like to know how I should go about doing the same.

A company is trying to collect on a debt that is over 6 years old. Isnt that past the SOL law and if so they cannont legally sue correct?

Hello everyone. I am having trouble with NCO Financial Systems. Briefly, I am in pre-bankruptcy counseling in Maryland. My attorney expects to file in late May. NCO Financial Systems has been calling me for several months now. I did take perhaps half a dozen of the calls. I explained my situation and asked for a fax number and street address so my attorney could contact them regarding my case. Each time I did so, they became even more abusive (shouting / threatening) and they would not give me the information.

I am getting ready to send them a revoke of wage assignment letter and a demand to stop harrassement and refund request (I know..I know..but I just want them to stop) I have had 10 loans with them..total principle I paid $6500.00 total in illegal fees paid $2075. I currently have a $500 loan due tomorrow totalling $693 due. I am telling them that they can deduct the $500 principle from the $2075 in illegal fees they have collected and send me a refund of $1575. I really do not expect the refund ... at all! I just want to be DONE with them.

The quick nitty gritty: My wife filed for Chapter 13 in 2003 and had it discharged 11/2003. At this point, 11/03, she turned in her leased vehicle(which was included on the Ch 13) and never received any further communication from Nissan Motor Credit. It is our understanding now, that the car went for auction and that my wife was responsible for the remaining balance of the vehicle.

I had a car charged off by ford many years ago. I cleaned up a bunch of my credit and have been a relatively good consumer since. Now all of a sudden I have a debt recovery company calling me and trying to collect a debt that isnt even on my report any more. Are they allowed to do that? Is there any thing I can do besides dealing with these people?

Hello, I have a questions about how to stop phone calls from the Original Creditor to my family members. I have spoken with an attorney & he tells me just to not answer their calls but they have now started to call family members. Do I have any rights to stop that?
