$50,000 in credit card debt, Options?

17 years 1 month ago
I have a friend who is in $50,000 credit card debt and she is very stressed over it. I'm concerned for her health, so I'm asking on her behalf. She has several credit cards totaling $50k and the minimum repayments are between $1000 and $1500 per month (closer to $1500) which she is struggling to pay and still relies on the credit cards for every day costs. Because most of money she pays off only covers interest this is a never ending issue. She approached a consultant who offered to get this to closer to $1000/mth with the whole amount being paid off in a few years (4 or 5 I think it was).

I have no Idea what First National Bank/First Nation Services is but they just took $590 from my account in the form of an electronic check. it wasnt a traditional debit, it was an actual check! Someone said it has to do with Pay Day Loan Yes which i have a pdl outstanding with for 350. I put a stop payment on it though after paying almost 400! I called my bank and filed a claim. Does anyone know what I can do to get my money back!?

Happy Easter Happy Passover

I hope everyone enjoys the meaning of this time of year. Whether you are Christian, Jew, Muslim, Buddhist or any other faith you may be. Remember if you are Christian, passover is for you too. You may not have the same traditions as the Jewish people but Christ celebrated passover. Cooincidently the the first Seder of Passover fell on Holy Thursday this year. Have a great weekend!

I paid a collection agency for a credit card debt. I received a settled in full letter from the CA for the debt. The Original creditor still shows the full amount owed and transferred to another lender. How do you fix the original creditor tradeline? Or can you?

Trying to get out of this

17 years 1 month ago
I was stupid and lived off credit cards for a portion of college and now I'm trying to get debt free as painlessly as possible. Here's my situation: I had $23,000 in credit card debt at 27.47% APR. Over the past year I've paid it down to $18,600, but it's such slow going. I just got a raise and can now afford to pay at least $1,000 a month to the cards. I have no other debt or month payments beyond rent/cell phone and basic living expenses. How can I get the interest rate reduced?

How do I even start??

17 years 1 month ago
I have been reading this topic with interest but must admit I still feel pretty overwhelmed. In the past nine years I have gone through a divorce and two bouts with cancer. Needless to say, my credit is in the dumpster. At one time about a year ago my credit score was only in the 400's. I have not even had the nerve to look at what it is now. I see some great ideas in here about letters to send requesting settlement in turn for them deleting it from your credit report. The thing is I have several accounts that are pretty big ... $900 to $1500 written off.
