I searched this number it is for a cell phone in florida. I unfortunatly took out a few internet pdl a few years ago. I have paid off all of them but not before I was threatned with jail. I thought I was all done paying these off. I am not paying them until i get proof that I owe them,next time they call I will ask for their name and address to send a debt validation letter. They have very thick indian accents and lots of noise in the background so I suspect maybe a scam or something. Well see what they say next time probably the sherriff is coming to get you or they say good luck to you.

I added a Bally's account with Asset Acceptance to my DMP plan. At the time the Asset balance was 1800. The first payment went no problem, but this months payment went through and all of a sudden the balance is 2450. My DMP said they just updated the balance with them on March 10th and that I would need to contact Asset. What can I do here? Can they just add 650 dollars to this account? Talking to them on the phone will do no good as it never had in the past...this just doesn't seem right to me...

I have 2 personal loans right now and the payments to them are killing me financially. I was wondering if anyone had any luck trying to negotiate with Capital One. Thanks

Okay, so I know which of my PDL's are illegal. Now I'm getting ready to send them emails/letters and close my checking account. My question is, when setting up repayment, how much authority do I have to dictate the terms? Like if I say 'I can afford to send you $50 a month', do they have to accept whatever I decide to send them?

This number 866-933-2969 has called me a lot since Friday and was wondering if anyone know which PDL it is. On 800notes it says its a CA for a PDL but curious as to which one. Thanks.

has anybody got a call from these people the number is 484-242-2484. the annoying part is that they call me every sunday. is there anything i can do since they are in violation of the FDCPA by calling on sundays?

Can someone tell me how can the phone companies give out unlisted numbers to bill collectors. Both Verizon and AT&T told me if a creditor calls them for a phone number for the people they are looking for-THEY WILL GIVE THEM the numbers they want. THEY ARE ALLOWED TO DO SO. What is this crap? My mother last year kindly paid a bill for us out of her own checking account and now is paying the price for it. They evidently made a note of her name on the check and now that my husband and I are having problems, she was being called on her own home phone.

I was served a Summons in the state of SC on SUnday April 5th 2009. The complaint was filed by the original creditor I believe as they are listed as the plaintiff(HSBC Bank Nevada), BUT, on the notarized complaint it says at the bottom, "This communiation is from a debt collector. The purpose of this communication is to collect a debt." The paperwork also includes an Affadavit from an employee of HSBC Bank. What to do?!?!?!
